Chapter 46 - Riko
Tonight was amazing. Sure there were some moments I wish didn’t happen, like us getting caught on that bench. But otherwise, it was a wonderful evening. And it ended with a wonderful kiss. Too bad my dad had to interrupt that. I was still on cloud nine as I walked into my room.
“Someone’s home far too early to have had such a good time.” my grandmother’s teasing voice jarred me out of my stupor. I blinked, seeing her sitting on my bed smiling at me. I rolled my eyes at her as I took off my cardigan. “What are you doing in my room?” I questioned while I checked my phone.
I frowned as I looked over the missed texts. So their father disapproved, and their mother was being open-minded. At least that’s one parent who isn’t going to belittle us and try to make us feel bad about our relationship. Which made me wonder if she was alive would my mom be okay with this?&

I was still lying in my bed laughing, looking at the picture of my goofy boyfriend eating Cocoa Puffs. “Forrest, you are… I think I love you, you crazy boy.” I sighed, holding my phone to my chest. It’s crazy that just that cute and flirty morning text exchange has me smiling like a love-struck fool. I can’t wait to see him tonight. I read over our text again and wondered about his brothers. Where are Darius and Elijah going to be working today? Will they be working outdoors in this cold? Or is it indoors where they can stay warm? My alarm went off, and I immediately sat up in bed, rubbing sleep from my eyes. A glance to Forrest’s bed, and I knew he had already left for practice.
