Elio was three years old when a Beta from the Calyx Pack, came running towards their Luna.
“Luna,” The young Beta bowed towards Diana, who was busy with household chores.
“Good morning, Wilbur,” Diana greeted politely and proceeded to dry her hands, “come in dear.” She called.
The Beta was pleasantly surprised, that the pack Luna knew his name, but it was expected from a gracious Omega like Diana.
Wilbur looked restless, but complied, not wanting to come off as disrespectful.
“It’s Elio, Luna.” The Beta spoke without further delay.
“My pup? What’s the matter?” Diana grew worried, her heartbeat increased.
“Can you come with me to the pack grounds?” Wilbur said and Diana nodded, immediately following him.
A circle of young wolves had gathered under the Oak tree, near the ground.
Small hiccups of a crying child, could be heard from afar.
The children parted when they saw their pack Luna coming towards them.
“Elio,” Diana called out breathlessly, searching for her son.
“Maa.” Her Omega son’s distressed voice responded, when his teary eyes found Diana, from the middle of the group.
Elio instantly stretched both his hands out, opening and closing his small fists, wanting to be in his mother’s arms.
Diana lifted her son in her embrace, rubbing his back and kissing his soft cheeks.
“It’s my fault Luna, I tried to scare him first.” An Alpha boy apologized, with a panicked expression.
He looked about five years old and his knee was bruised.
“Oh my, you’re hurt.” Diana bent down on her knees on the green grass, with a sniffling Elio in her arms.
“I’m sorry, Alwyn.” Elio sadly mumbled, looking at the Alpha boy.
“Don’t worry Elio, Alphas heal quickly.” Alwyn smiled at the Omega.
Elio was loved by his friends and family; the entire pack was fond of the adorable Omega.
“Maa, I hurt Alwyn, but I apoloshize.” Elio explained to his mother, his maroon eyes shining with innocence.
Diana chuckled at his pronunciation and patted Elio’s head.
“It’s good you apologized baby,” She said gently, “but how did you hurt Alwyn?”
“I pushed him because I got scared when he came from behind.” The Omega admitted sadly.
That didn’t sound right to Diana, Elio was only three years old and an Omega, how could he have pushed an older Alpha that he fell down?
“Maa, can I go play now?” Elio asked looking at his friends.
The Omega was crying because he thought he hurt someone, but he felt better when Alwyn said he was okay.
“Maa.” Elio called impatiently, when his mother didn’t respond.
“Oh, yes you can play and be careful now.” She put her son on the ground, who waddled away with his friends, as if nothing had happened.
The kids didn’t understand all the differences in their ranks, it’s only when they would grow up, they would realize what had happened today, was not normal.
Diana walked back to her house, thoughts clouding her mind, but she dismissed all of them, thinking it was just children playing around.
Until, she was forced to think again, when on Elio’s fifth birthday, the Omega went missing for three hours and found his way back home, all on his own.
When she asked him how did he find his way back, the Omega simply replied that he was able to smell her scent.
She assumed Elio had not gone far, but Alpha Fenrys informed that his wolves had spotted Elio near the Nova pack hunting grounds, which were quite far away.
This time Diana realized the gravity of the situation, she immediately expressed all her worries to her Alpha, who agreed and said that he had noticed too.
There was no way a minor Omega’s sense of smell was this strong.
Fearing the worst, Stephan decided to confide in his friend and fellow Council member Jayden Fenrys.
When Alpha Fenrys received Stephan’s letter, he paid a visit to the Calyx pack, with his son Adrian.
The father and son duo from the Nova pack, were warmly welcomed by the Calyx.
When they entered the Marrok residence, Jayden registered the worried faces of Stephan and Diana.
“Adrian, would you like to go out and look around the Calyx pack?” Alpha Fenrys asked his eight-year-old son.
“Yes dear, Elio can show you around.” Diana spoke with a welcoming smile and dragged her son in front, who was trying to hide behind the skirts of her dress.
Elio reluctantly came forward and his eyes met with familiar black ones.
“You- " Adrian was about to speak, when the cute little Omega he met near the waterfall rushed towards him, cutting him off.
“Yes, come I will show you around my pack.” Elio hastily held Adrian’s hand and pulled him out of the room.
Their parents only smiled at their children’s antiques, mistaking the Omega’s weird behavior with excitement.
“Don’t you recognize me?” Adrian asked the Omega, who was still dragging him to a deserted place, through the corridors.
Elio had met Adrian in the open field near the waterfall three days ago, when he had wondered away a bit too far from home, without telling anyone.
The Omega had not expected to find a company there, but he did and even enjoyed it.
“I do.” Elio replied with a giggle and Adrian didn’t understand why he felt happy too, knowing that the Omega didn't forget their little playtime together.
“You can’t tell anyone, you met me.” Elio told the Alpha when they reached the backyard of Elio's house.
“Why?” Adrian tilted his head in confusion, his long raven hair were falling in uneven bangs on his forehead.
“Aren’t Alphas supposed to be intelligent?” Elio huffed; he didn’t want to reveal he had wondered away from home without permission.
“I am intelligent.” Adrian frowned, falling right into the Omega’s trap.
“Then you should not ask too many questions, okay?” Elio innocently blinked his big maroon eyes in front of him, getting an instant nod, that made him smile.
“My name is Eliot, but you can call me Elio.” The Omega introduced himself with a bright smile.
“My name is Adrian.” The Alpha matched his smile.
“Don’t you have a pet name?” Elio asked curiously, he liked using pet names.
“No.” Adrian replied, shrugging his slightly broad shoulders.
“What does your mother call you?” Elio questioned instead.
“I don’t have a mother, Elio.” Adrian said with a small smile and looked down.
“Don’t worry, I will give you a pet name.” The Omega said quickly, not liking how the Alpha became a little sad.
“Okay.” Adrian brightened up.
The Omega thought for a moment, patting his finger on his cheek, as the Alpha patiently waited.
“Yes, I thought your pet name!” Elio jumped happily, “Addy!” he announced gleefully and the Alpha smiled in approval.
“I like that name.” Adrian complimented, as he pet Elio’s fluffy hair.
“But you have to promise one thing!” The Omega demanded.
“What?” Adrian asked.
“Only I can call you that, because I made it.” Elio said and once again the Alpha complied, he just couldn’t say no to the adorable Omega.
“Alright, I promise.” Adrian said, but the Omega shook his head.
“Not like this.” Elio replied and cupped the Alpha’s face, with his small hands.
He then stretched on his toes and connected their foreheads together.
It was a way werewolves sealed their promises with their loved ones, Elio always did it with his mom and didn’t consider it any different doing it with Adrian.
They both closed their eyes in sincerity and then smiled at each other, as they stepped away; marking the beginning of something beautiful.
“You can’t keep this hidden forever, Stephan, we cannot sit here and decide the boy’s future, it is his life and we can do nothing, but guide him.” Jayden Fenrys spoke, while sitting across from the Alpha and Luna of the Calyx. “I know Jayden and trust me, I’m his father, I would never want to dictate my son’s life, but he is the most vulnerable and sensitive soul, I can’t help but want to hide him from all evil.” Stephan expressed gravely, while Diana rubbed his shoulders in silence. The three adults were seated in the living room of the Marrok residence, the calm weather outside contrasting the raging storms, in the hearts of two worried parents. “Alpha Fenrys, Elio is still very young and unaware of all he can do and all others can do to him,” Diana spoke for the first time, since Jayden has arrived. “I want to be able to help him and always support him, I am a mere Omega but I will not hesitate to stand against anyone who tries to hurt him in any way.” Diana made direct eye con
The cracking sounds of bone joints echoed, as the young wolf turned back to his human form, his exceptional glowing eyes, turning back to the original black color, which was a sign of strength, in the werewolf kind. Only the most powerful kind of wolves were able to change their eye color on transformation and Alpha Fenrys was proud that his son had inherited that from him. The Nova pack was the second largest pack in the werewolf community and being its head Alpha, was not in the least bit easy. Jayden Fenrys had to prove himself time an again, to earn the leadership of the pack from his father and it made him the experienced and competent man, that he was today. He wished the same for his son, who had already made him proud in everything he did. Adrian was such a good son; it was almost impossible to tell that he grew up without a mother. The Luna of pack Nova had parted from her family the same day Adrian had arrived into the world, the pack Alpha still remembered the last con
“A flower smells the sweetest, the day it blossoms, Lucifer.” A deep voice rasped, that dripped with malicious amusement. “What do you mean master?” The wolf called Lucifer, spoke in a sepulchral manner. “The right time, Lucifer, the right moment to strike, where victory is guaranteed.” The master grinned, eyes hooked on the two distracted pups, who were too engrossed in each other to care about the danger lurking around. “Let’s retreat for now, before the night patrol catches our scent.” The two giant wolves concluded their exchange and disappeared, deep into the woods. As the days passed by, Adrian and Eliot met each other every month, on the day of the full moon, reuniting in the same field each time and they talked and played to their hearts content, until the near break of dawn forced them apart. In all this time they spent together, the Alpha realized how different his friend was from other Omegas. Elio would catch his scent from miles away and he was not even at his transf
The Calyx pack members swore to keep Elio’s transformation a secret, when requested by their pack Alpha. Stephan made sure to keep the vulnerable identity of his Omega son, eclipsed from the rest of the werewolf community for the time being, in accordance to the plan that he had discussed with his friend. The Alpha did not want to compromise in any form when it came to his family’s safety, he had one son and he was ready to raise hell in his defense, if the need would arise. Elio was still young and the journey of facing the world had just commenced, he was still learning about his own self, exploring the extent of the unmatched power he was blessed with. The Omega’s strength was equal to that of a full-grown Alpha at the tender age of twelve and there were mixed reactions from the people of the pack. The number of friends Elio had, decreased day by day, the cause being his own elder cousin, trying to convince everyone how hostile and tainted he was. “Even the Omegas don’t want y
“Alpha Ryan, alert the frontier wolves, I’m sure it’s the night patrol and the border guards who are engaged at present.” Diana promptly analyzed the situation, stepping into the responsibility of leadership in the absence of the pack Alpha. “That’s right Luna, the alert has already been issued.” Alpha Ryan replied, he too had immediately taken the required action, as soon as the news of the attack reached him. “That is good, dispatch a warning to the pack members, none of the Omegas, children and juvenile Alphas uncapable of combat should step out of the homes, tell them to secure their houses.” Diana instructed as she locked her own house securely, with her sleeping son inside. “I have done that as well; five Beta wolves are already running the perimeter around pack borders, to assess the numbers of the enemy.” Alpha Ryan informed, as he accompanied the Luna towards the main packhouse. “You are extremely reliable, Alpha Ryan, if not for you and with Stephan missing, we would have
The three wolves turned in unison to face the glowing scarlet eyes, as a medium sized wolf emerged from the middle of the Oak trees, its silver fur standing out in the dark. “Didn’t you hear me?” the voice of the young wolf bellowed in their minds again, “I said step away from my mother, you filthy creatures!” The Omega shrieked at the wolves encircling Diana. “This has to be some kind of joke, an Omega pup is here to save the day, quick, act scared.” The Alpha holding a grip on Diana spoke up, “I guess it’s my luck-” The wolf didn’t get to complete, when suddenly, the white wolf lunged forward with blinding speed and lodged its jaws into the Alpha’s free forelimb, earning an anguished growl. Before the Alpha had time to react, Elio jerked his head with full force to the side, making the Alpha wolf tumble a few feet away, freeing his mother from the painful grip, as he rushed towards her. Elio nudged the blood-soaked snout of his mother’s golden-brown wolf, lying weakly on the grou
“Maa, open your eyes, talk to me please, don’t leave me, NO!” Elio screamed awake, panting and sweating, feeling as if someone was pounding on his head with rocks, “Ughh,” the Omega groaned, clutching his head. “Elio, are you okay, does it hurt anywhere!?” A familiar worried voice asked, the Omega rubbed his blurry eyes and blinked to see his friend Alwyn sitting on the corner of his bed, concern etched on his face. “Alwyn?” Elio asked in a daze, as he slowly looked around and realized he was in his own cozy bedroom, but then again, the events of the moonless night hit him like a boulder, his heart rate became rapid at the recollection of his mother’s state. “Maa!” Elio gasped, “Alwyn, where is my mother!?” The Omega asked, his body jolting in worry, he was so stupid, how could he have collapsed like that when his mother was bleeding so much, she was alive right? Alpha Ryan had come, he had saved her right? Elio’s thoughts were in absolute splits, he wasn’t even able to hear what A
“How dare that low class, wretched male Omega speak to me in that manner.” Alpha Darius grumbled while stomping through the main gate of the Packhouse of the Calyx. He was fuming in anger at the insulting behavior of the pack Alpha and his lowborn son, they had the audacity to tell him, who was an extremely respected member of the Council, to leave in such a rude manner, it was absolutely humiliating. Darius was walking across the field towards the guest lodge, simmering in his thoughts, when he felt someone following him. The Alpha turned abruptly to face a young black haired Alpha boy, who flinched when Darius had turned all of a sudden. The older Alpha’s enraged expression transitioned into an irritated one, as he raised his eyebrows questionably towards the timid looking, lanky Alpha boy. “I wanted to tell you something, mister Darius, my name is Ashton Marrok, the one who is going to be next pack Alpha.” Ashton spoke, trying not to show how scared he was, but his confidence c
