Black's POV
"I'm White Reinheit." The boy introduced himself as he put his hand out for a handshake. "What about you?"This is the third time this has happened. This guy is the third person I've seen today that just suddenly gained colors. It doesn't make sense at all. "Um, hello?" The boy started waving his hand in front of my face. Unconsciously, I slapped his hand away. He looked at me with a surprised expression on his face, then looked down."Sorry." He apologized, looking like the world is about to end. "I just thought you might've wanted to have friends since you just transferred here.""M-My bad. I don't really like when people invade my personal space." I looked away. "I appreciate the thought, but I'd rather be left alone. Sorry.""Ah, but your name? It's hard to work like this when I don't know what to call you.""...Black. Black Vera."We did that dumb activity, and finally, White left me alone. That guy looked like he had a lot of friends, so I don't see what he would gain from befriending me. Seriously, people don't need that many friends. As soon as class finished, I fixed my stuff and got ready to leave, but I was stopped by one of my classmates. "Someone's looking for you." He said as he pointed at the door. It was that girl, Lilac. She waved her hand at me as soon as I looked at her. I grabbed my bag and walked towards her. "What?" I asked."Jeez, can't you be glad that I even went here?" She replied as she pouted. "You didn't even tell me your class, so I had a hard time looking for you.""And why were you looking for me, miss?""I told you my name, didn't I?""You're a huge pain, miss Lilac.""That's not a nice thing to say, Black.""So? Are you gonna tell me why you're here."She smiled and showed me a poster to a newly opened cafe. "I still owe you for returning my wallet, so how about I treat you here?""I told you earlier that I didn't need anything from you.""I'm not doing this for you, okay? I don't like it when I'm in somebody's debt."This girl is so persistent. I doubt she'll leave me alone if I keep rejecting her, so there's only one way out. He who fights and runs away, may live to fight another day. So you better bet I ran my ass out of there as quickly as I could. I didn't even stop to check if she was chasing me. I finally reached the school's entrance, and that was the only time I turned around. She was nowhere to be found. I guess even she wouldn't got that far--is what I wanted to say, but when I arrived at school the next morning, she was waiting outside of my classroom. I'm not even gonna attempt to deal with this.I immediately turned the other direction and just went wherever my feet would take me. I'm already cutting classes, and it's only the second day. This can't get any worse. I stopped to see where I was, and it definitely just got worse. Right above me was a sign that said 'Light Music Club'. I planned not to involve myself anymore with those three people, and yet somehow, just today, I already encountered one of them. What's worse is that I might even encounter another one of them, and it really had to be that scary guy. I sighed and turned around, but to my dismay, there he was. The scary guy stopped dead in his tracks as he stared at me. "Didn't I tell you not to come here?" He asked. "I kinda just ended up here." I replied. He scratched his head aggressively as he groaned in frustration. "Damn it!" He exclaimed, then he glared at me. "What're you even doing here? Don't you have a class to get to?""Oh, yeah, of course.""Are you playing hooky?""...Kinda?"He smirked and kicked the doors to the light music club room open. "Get in." He instructed me. I'm geting inside only because he told me to. As much as I want to run away from here just like with that Lilac girl yesterday, I feel like this guy will actually chase me. Fear is such a strong driving force. The guy sat down on his seat from before and put his guitar pick in his mouth as he tied his bangs up. He looked at me and gestured for me to sit down too. "Um, you said before this isn't a club anymore, right?" I asked. "So why are you here?""Same as you. I'm cutting classes." He started strumming his guitar. "You a new student?""Yeah.""That explains why you were wandering around here yesterday. Word of advice; don't come here if you don't want any weird rumours spreading about you. It'll be bad if someone sees you coming from here. A new student like you wouldn't want the others avoiding you, right?"This guy acted so scary yesterday, but now he's just giving me advice. His personality is all over the place. Wait-"They'll avoid me if I keep coming here?" I asked. "That's what I said, didn't I? So stop coming here.""Then it's decided, I'm gonna join the light music club."The guy stopped strumming and dropped his guitar pick as he stared at me with a look of disbelief. "Didn't you hear what I said??" He asked with a frustrated tone in his voice. "I just told you people will avoid you if you keep coming here!""And I don't exactly see what the problem is with that." I replied. "I just want to spend my school days in peace. If going to this place means I don't have to deal with anybody, then that's nothing but good news to me.""You-!" He cut himself off, then sighed. "Turn in your club application form later.""Great! This is such a relief.""Name.""What?""I said tell me your name.""Oh, I'm Black Vera.""Call me Crimson. We"re in the same grade, so stop being so stiff around me.""Ah, r-right."We spent until lunchtime just minding our own business. Crimson had a notebook out, and every few minutes after strumming, he'd write something down. Occasionally, I'd also hear him hum a short tune, but each tune only lasted for a few seconds. The sight of Crimson playing his guitar made me want to sketch him. I don't know what it was, but there was something that was drawing me to him. I don't know if it's the colors around him, or the fact that his music somehow sounded lonely.Crimson stretched his arms as the bell for lunch rang. "You want anything from the cafeteria?" He asked. "Can I come with?" I replied as I stood up. "I don't know my way around the school yet.""What? Then what'd you do yesterday?""I was checking out the clubs, so I didn't have time to eat."He sighed and placed his guitar back in its case. "Then let's go, but don't say I didn't warn you earlier. If weird rumours spread about you, don't blame me.""I already told you I'm fine with it.""Suit yourself then."Black's POVJust as Crimson said, it looked like people were talking about us as we walked to the cafeteria. It's like they're not even trying to be discreet about it. I don't know anything about Crimson, but his reputation probably isn't anything good if people are talking about me like this as soon as I'm seen with him. I really have to thank him later. After we finished buying food, we didn't stay in the cafeteria. Instead, he led me towards the top floor. The door to the rooftop was locked, so we just sat down in front of it."You sure you're good with just bread?" Crimson asked as he started eating."I'm fine with this." I replied. "Instead-" I trailed off as I stared at the large amount of food he bought. "-nevermind.""What department are you in? I forgot to ask earlier.""Ah, I'm from the arts department.""Is that why you were drawing earlier? Did you already have to pass
Black's POVCurrently, I'm facing a major problem. On my way to school, I spotted somebody with colors, crouching on all fours as he looked like he was looking for something. Unfortunately, it was that guy from my class, White Reinheit.I have to pass through, but he'll definitely see me. I don't know any other routes to school, and it was bad enough that I cut classes once. I can't skip again.I begrudgingly approached him. "What're you looking for?" I asked. He looked up at me with tears in his eyes. "I lost my necklace." He replied as he wiped his tears and sniffled."Your necklace? What does it look like?""It has a silver chain and a cross.""And you lost it around here?"He nodded his head as he continued looking.I sighed loudly as I crouched down and started to search for it too. "It'll be easier if we look for it tog
Black's POVToday is club recruitment day. It's a day designated for the freshmen and transfer students to check out the clubs and join one that interests them. There aren't any classes today, so the whole day is used for clubs to recruit members. Luckily, I already have a club, so I don't have to go through the trouble of trying to find one.I entered our club room, and surprisngly, Crimson wasn't there. While waiting for him, I decided to work on some schoolwork.I'm currently part of the light music club. This place is honestly just a club in name only. We don't do any club activities. Instead, we just hang out here. Crimson and I are the only members, and I don't think Crimson intends to recruit any more. It's surprising that the school allows this, but I'm not really complaining. The clubroom's doors were suddenly swung open, making a large banging noise. I flinched and turned around, seeing Crimson all tatte
Black's POV"I'm home." I said as I entered our house, but nobody answered. I guess Aunt Autumn hasn't come home yet.I sighed and went straight to my room. I changed my clothes, then lied down as I took my phone out and put my earphones on. Our performance will be in two days, so I have to learn the song by that time.I took out the lyrics inside my bag and read it as the song played. Surprisingly, Crimson had a really soft singing voice. It was unexpected considering his rough-sounding voice whenever he talks.I knew something felt weird when I was listening to the song, but as I skimmed through the lyrics, I could understand what it was. The song sounded lonely. It wasn't just the lyrics, but Crimson's singing and the tone of the song made it sound very lonely too. When I finished the song, I didn't notice that I had
Black's POV Ever since we were suddenly told we had to perform at the end of club recruitment, Crimson and I have been practicing whenever we had free time. I wondered why we had to perform on the last day, but Crimson said it was because the principal knew we didn't want any new members. The principal and his parents were actually friends, and I guess his parents asked for a favour from the principal? I'm not really sure about the details, but it was something like that. The only reason we had to perform this year was because I joined, and the principal wanted to see what we could do. It's pretty much my fault that Crimson had to go through all this, but he wasn't as mad as I expected him to be. "Hey, you okay?" Crimson asked as he placed a can of juice on my desk. "You nervous for later?" "Ah, yeah, a bit." I replied as Iaughed nervously. "I guess I'm just really not used to this type of stuff." "Geez, you've neve
Black's POV"I flunked it." I said as I buried my face into my hands."You did great." Crimson replied as he sat down next to me. "Didn't you hear the crowd cheering earlier? They loved you."Our performance finished, and I honestly couldn't remember much of what happened. I got so nervous that I blacked out, and when I came to, we were already done. I can't help but feel robbed, but I'm glad that we're finally done with it.The doors to the music room opened, then Scarlet peeked inside. "There you two are." She said as she handed us a plastic bag with food and drinks. "Congratulations to the both of you. The freshmen won't stop talking about your performance, especially you, Black. They loved your voice.""Thank you." I replied. "Ah, your clothes.""You can keep them. Just remember the agreement we had. We'll
Black's POVAfter Crimson and I ate lunch, I walked back to my classroom. On my way there, I noticed Lilac carrying a bunch of notebooks on her own. They were definitely too much for her.She was swaying from side to side, and it looked like she was about to fall anytime. I walked up to her and grabbed half of what she was carrying."Where are you taking these?" I asked."Oh, Black." She called my name and smiled. 'Thanks for helping me. I just need to get these to my class.""Are you on class duty?""How'd you know?""I'd be an idiot if I didn't. Why are you doing this alone? Where's the other one on duty?""She said she had to take care of something else, so I just offered to do it myself."I sighed as we coincidentally arrived at her classroom. I took all the notebooks from her and placed them on the teacher's desk. "Don't do reckless things like these again.
Black's POV"White, this is Scarlet and Crimson." I introduced them to each other. "They're my friends. Crimson, Scarlet, this is White, my...classmate.""Nice to meet you, White." Scarlet said as she approached him. "You don't mind if we join, right? We'll pay for the karaoke room.""We will?" Crimson asked."You will. I'll pay for the food you order as well. How does that sound?""U-Um..." White stuttered as he looked at my direction, but I avoided eye contact.I'm sorry, White, but they want your answer, not mine.He eventually agreed, but the aftermath was horrible. The atmosphere was really awkward, and it looked like Scarlet was the only one enjoying herself."I'm so sorry about this, White." I whispered as I sat next to him. "I really didn't expect to see them here. I'll make it up to you.""Ah, no, it's okay." He replied in a whisper as well. "The more t
