32. Thought of leaving

Lillian's eyes snapped open, her heart racing from the vivid nightmare that had gripped her sleep. The image of her sister, Katherine, orchestrating a devious plot against her family played out in her mind, leaving her breathless and shaken. She glanced around the dimly lit bedroom, relief flooding her senses as she realized it was all just a dream.
