Chapter 13: Last day

"Everything is going to be alright soon," Chantel said with a smile

Mrs Brown got closer and hugged both of them.

"Mum, we are out of food," Ruth said

Mrs Brown pulled away from the hug and looked into her bag.

"Here, this is enough to us some noodles. I will go to the bank to see if we can have access to what is left of your dad's money," she said

Chantel followed them to the door and looked out the window. She pulled up her phone and dialled Mrs Hayford's number as soon as Ruth and Mrs Brown could no longer be seen
