May’s POV

Jerking out of his arms, I looked at Asher, giving him a look that said he shouldn’t think this was something it wasn’t. Asher looked at my face again, with an accusation in his eyes even though he didn't say anything, and all I could think of was what would be running through his mind presently.

Holy shit, this doesn’t look good at all, there was no way I could explain this without it looking all sketchy.

I felt his eyes on me, and for a moment, I wished he would just say something, anything, to break the awkward silence that enveloped us. I would also like for him but to look at me the way he was currently looking at me, like I had done something so grave.

His gaze held an accusation that cut through me, though he uttered not a single word. What did he think he saw? That I was with Mr. Keith?

All he saw was a hand wrapped around my waist, so couldn’t he just know that that could be because I wanted to fall and he had helped me up?
