Adonis' POV
I never expected such a thing to happen, not after these people have been silent for such a long time. I was expecting them to have been gone.
Vampire hunters!
The last time I've had contact with one was about twenty years ago and even though I managed to kill him that night, it never occurred to me that they'll be back or maybe they're more than one on this side of the world.
After I left Bella's place around that one in the morning, I was on my way back to my apartment when I felt something following me, tracing my path.
I didn't need to be told, I knew who he was.
Trying to divert his attention, I took a different lane that was different from my path home as I was trying to figure something out. He didn't notice that the road I was taking was different and this meant just one thing; he hadn't figured out my house yet.
But the bigger problem is, it is possible in every way that Bella is in danger. If they could trace me from her house, then it is very possible that they know about her.
The next thing to do was bait the hunter who was following me. I began walking faster, at a pace that was inhumane and before he could catch up with me at a dark corner, I was no more in his sight.
Only for me to appear behind him. He was agitated, looking around curiously, and cursed when he realized that I was gone.
I touched his shoulder and he jumped a little as he turned.
"Who are you? Why are you following me?" I hissed.
"I know what you are, monster" he spat
"Good! That way, you wouldn't be surprised when I show you what I can do"
I opened my mouth sharply to reveal my fangs as I made my fingernails longer than normal. I grabbed both of his shoulders with my hand, buried my fingers into it as his face became sour with pain.
"Even if you kill me, others are coming," he threatened.
"They will come to pick up your dead body"
I slashed his throat with the pocket knife that was with me and smirked as his body dropped to the floor.
I could have fed on his blood but I vowed to never taste a hunter's blood no matter how needy and hungry I get. I'll prefer to go weak and rabid rather than feed on a hunter's blood.
The bag that he had carried with him was on the floor, so I picked it up to check the one thing that I needed.
An iron stake.
I knew he was going to have something like this with him.
I brought it out of the bag and walked towards the hunter on the floor. He was still breathing, holding his slashed neck with his arm as he raised the other one towards me, trying to stop me from doing what I was about to do.
"When your fellow hunters see this, they'll know I'm not a force to reckon with. I'm Adonis, a fucking vampire who has lived for two hundred years. Do you think I lived that long just to get killed by a loser like you?"
The first thing I did was to hit him on the head with the iron stake, making him lose consciousness completely.
The last thing I did was dig the iron stake into his heart the same way he would have done to me if he had the chance.
There's nothing called mercy when I'm involved.
I need to do something before things get out of hand.
Picking up my phone, I dialed a number.
"Hermano"
"I told you I don't understand any of that silly language of yours, αδελφός"
I smirked at his translation of the word, brother in Greek.
"How have you been, Andro?" Andro is one of the five male vampires left and he's one of the three that I know. We don't have a clue if there's any female vampire left but there was a rumor that one was in this particular town that I am and this was one of the reasons why I relocated here.
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a hold of one ever since I moved here.
"I've been good, his about you? Still going after those κορίτσια και η γλυκύτητά τους?" I laughed out.
Being friends with Andro for a long time had made me understand some of his languages, especially those curses he spews when he's angry or those words he says whenever he's trying to be silly.
"Well, I've been a good boy," I replied.
"Good! Tell me, Adonis, what's the situation? You never call for no particular reason" he asked, reading me like an open book.
"Vampire hunters"
"Where, when, and how many are they?" He asked angrily.
Andro has had his fair share of what Vampire hunters are capable of and anytime he hears anything about them, he gets really angry.
"Calm down Andro. I saw only one but I took care of him already. I'm just worried about someone in particular and I need your help with relocating"
"Who's this special someone?"
"Is that the only thing you heard in all I had said?" I asked, teasing him.
"Of course. So, tell me about this special sister or brother"
"I didn't say ‘special’. I only said, someone"
"When was the last time you said anything about anybody?" He asked and I couldn't find an answer.
"Fine! She's special"
"I said it!"
Andro is a mischievous person and he's been that way since forever.
"Wait! Did you find the female vampire? Is she the ‘special’ person?" He asked excitedly.
"No, this one is human"
"You're kidding, right?"
I breathed deeply before replying. "I'm dead serious. I have this deep connection to her and she affects me in such a way that makes me feel powerful, different, and …." He interrupted before I could finish talking.
"She's your Emerthus" he concluded.
"I think so"
He was silent for a while before replying.
"I don't know how you're going to do it but let me wish you good luck"
"I know it won't be easy. Fuck! So far, it hasn't been easy"
"Just go easy on her, Adonis. Always remember that she's human"
"Thank you, Andro. As I said, I want to relocate but that'll be after I've made her mine successfully"
"Just call me anytime you're ready, I'll take care of everything including the paperwork"
"Thank you, Andro. Make it for two people by the way"
He laughed. "You're so pussy whipped. Best of luck winning her over and if you fail with your lousy attitude, my shoulder will be here to cry on".
"That's if I don't break it"
"I'll think you said that"
BELLA"You're freaking out, Bella and in turn you're freaking me out. Calm the fuck down woman. Jesus!"
ADONISKeeping my Bella safe is my new mission and major priority, so for the first time, I dismissed my driver, Gregory and informed him that his services will no longer be needed until when necessary.Since I'm just a property owner and what is called a landlord, I don't necessarily have to go to work and that made it possible for me to keep a close eye on Bella. From the moment she walked out of her apartment this morning with her roommate who for unknown reasons gives me negative vibes, to them walking to the restaurant together, I've been lurking around her.Bella looked so beautiful as the sun appeared to radiate on her skin. Men turned whenever she walked past them and women were jealous at how the men looked at her with so much lust and admiration while all I could do was boil with jealousy and anger.I wish I could snap their heads off their necks and feed them to v
Bella's POV
Fun fact people: I wrote this chapter twice. I don't know how it happened but the first one got deleted and it took me like three days of lamenting, crying and throwing unnecessary tantrums about it before I could bring myself back to write it again. It might not meet your expectations but I hope it sends the right information across. Thank you.Adonis' POV
Bella's POVMinutes after Adonis left, I kept on asking myself if all that just happened was real or maybe it had been a dream as usual. I pinched myself, slapped my palms against my cheeks to try and wake myself from that dream but nothing works.
Bella's POV"I–– I didn't mean to leave" The hurt was evident in his eyes and I didn't know what to say or reply just to make him feel better."But you did," he concluded."I don't know you, Adonis, I don't even know who you are. You can't expect me to wait for a total stranger""You know who I am, Bella," he replied. His voice was higher this time."I told you everything the first night we met and you agreed""If I did, then why can't I remember anything? All I remember is your name and maybe your handsome face. Nothing more. I want to know what happened" I begged."I want to tell you as well. But
Adonis' POVAs soon as those words left my mouth, Bella sat frozen for a minute, she wasn't saying anything but the next thing she did was get up from her seat and walk out of the restaurant, leaving me shocked and confused."What happened, Adonis?" Marco walked over."Confession went wrong" I replied, trying to cover up the hurt I felt with pride."Then, go after her until she understands, Adonis" He persuaded me and I only shook my head."It's not necessary anymore. She left because she doesn't want to have anything to do with a monster like me""No man. She left because she was probably overwhelmed with the revelation. Imagine being a regular person an
Bella's POV"You don’t look good this morning, Bella," Dede said as I walked into the restaurant first thing the next morning."Blame that on my nightmares" I replied, almost close to tears.I was so exhausted I could barely feel my body due to my lack of slope the previous night. I'd woken up from a nightmare around one in the morning and I wasn't able to sleep back after that."Maybe you should take a break from work today" Dede proposed just as Eva had done and I refused her advice.I was too scared to stay alone at home. I didn't want to be alone to avoid Adonis completely. The fear of him showing up in my house was too much for me to risk. I don't want to see him yet so it'll be better to
