After last night's run, the three of us had tangled within the sheets again. The release was more blissful than any before it. Being bonded and playing in the woods had brought us more close than any conversation could have. Julian had seen us in our true forms. Most primal bodies and he had loved us even more for it. I was so much smaller than Mikaela in wolf form, yet he treated us the same. Loved me all the same. It reminded me of that time he had come searching for me at the pack. Queen: Noun. The most powerful chess piece that each player has, able to move in any direction along a rank, file, or diagonal on which it stands. That is the definition of the queen in chess. I had adored chess since an early age. To manoeuvre your pieces in an effort to undermine your opponent. Victory was the only objective. The queen would protect her king, who wasn't able to move much. By doing so, she was the most powerful piece on the board. I was still considered a queen. An abducted queen, but queen none the less. My powers were cut short. Limitations placed on the spaces I was allowed to move. That didn't mean I wasn't able to move at all. But it felt suffocating to know that I had once been able to move in any direction as much as I possibly could. Gobble up opponents when they came too close or posed a great threat to my king.
