Episode 8

"Aaron! What are you doing in here?" she exclaimed, trying to cover her nakedness with her hands.

Aaron immediately shifted his gaze to the floor as Alice retreated back to the bathroom.

"I... I came to check on you," Aaron stated after stammering for a while.

"Check on me! You entered my room without my permission," Alice yelled loudly before shutting the door of the bathroom.

"I know, I'm sorry, but I think I should be leaving now," Aaron said as he exited her room.

While he was leaving, Alice quickly opened the bathroom door, peeked out, and prepared to speak but ended up remaining silent, allowing Aaron to get away like that.

Then she stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, and hurried to her phone on the bed. She checked the text message sent to her.

Her heart filled with unease as she realized Aaron might have seen the message, although she couldn't be certain. She knew she had to be cautious and swift in her actions, especially if Aaron hadn't seen the message.

Sitting on the bed, she grabbed her envelope, checked if the message was inside and it was, then she began contemplating her next move.

"I can't be certain if Aaron had seen anything but I just have to be careful with what I'm doing and there has to be a change of plan" she said to herself waving her head in frustration.

"That Aaron is always at my neck! he has to leave my life for god's and if I'm not forgetting..." She said as she rose to her feet pointing her finter at nothing with a serious expression on her face.

"Did he just saw my...? he saw my nakedness! anyways that's fine, it's a plan changed successful, at least I will know where to follow up" She added picking up her phone and reading the text message sent to her again.

"Just 2 days? gosh, and this people are not believing me that this guy is a werewolf, very dangerous one! gosh..." She said exhaling heavily as she finally lay on her bed exhausted.

Then Aaron who didn't walk away but stood behind her door hearing everything she said, finally left grabbing everything she said to herself.

Now, Aaron is totally confused, he wanted to believe that Alice had already reported him to the hunters but the hunters didn't believe her, but he can't possibly agree with that not when he knows that the monster hunters are not Black Dragons, hunters hunt both Monsters and Black Dragons too because they are criminals, the hunters hunt everything that seems invisible.

Aaron couldn't agree with that since it wasn't just about him. He could have easily agreed if it were only about him, but this involved delivering someone to them and also included a Mr. Mike.

With all these thoughts swirling in his mind, Aaron paused as he approached the parlor. He rested his body by the window, gazing outside at the compound, letting the fresh air wash over him.

He began to consider telling Juan about this but held back, knowing that Juan wouldn't believe it, even with the ample evidence he already had. It would be tough because Juan was always blind to Alice's true identity; she loved Alice more than she could ever love another person, not even him.

"Aaron, what are you doing over there?" Juan asked as she passed through the hallway, carrying a tray of food.

"Dinner is ready in the dining room. Go there and wait for me so we can eat together. Let's see if Alice will accept this one," she said in a slightly louder voice as she continued toward Alice's room without waiting for Aaron's response.

Shortly after, Juan returned without the food containers, indicating that Alice must have accepted the food. She was surprised to find Aaron still in the same position she passed him earlier. She stared at him in surprise, gently approaching him.

"Aaron," she called out, but he didn't respond. She was surprised and wondered why he was so lost in thought.

She swallowed nervously, knowing all too well that something must have happened when he met Alice. She thought that Alice might have said something unpleasant to him.

She swallowed again and gently tapped Aaron on the shoulder. "Juan, are you done with cooking?" he asked being a little bit startled, but she remained silent, gazing at him, leaving him puzzled by her expression.

"What?" He reacted.

"Aaron, did something happen when you went to meet Alice?" Juan asked, and his mind immediately raced to the moment when he saw Alice stepping out of the bathroom naked. He thought Alice might have told her about it.

He was just about to share this when Juan interrupted him once again.

"Did she say something bad to you again?" She asked. Aaron exhaled heavily, having a little mind relief. His mind went blank because he didn't know how to begin explaining.

"No... It's not about that," he responded, making Juan approach and look into his eyes.

"Then tell me, what is it? I know it must be something troubling, that's why you're in this sad mood," she said, pointing at him. He hoped that Juan would be understanding.

He knew she might not misunderstand him if he told her what he saw about Alice. She trusted him and knew he wouldn't try to flame her sister up for no reason, so he was prepared to tell her what he saw.

"Okay, I'll tell you, but let's move to the dining room. I'm hungry," Aaron suggested. Juan nodded, and they both headed to the dining room, where she served up some delicious food for both of them, beginning to eat as they sat down.

"Are you ready to tell me now?" Juan asked as they ate. Aaron gently placed his spoon back on the plate, picked up his glass, and took a sip of water.

"Juan, it's hard to believe, but trust me, it's about Alice," Aaron said. Juan, also pausing from eating, set her spoon aside and listened attentively.

"I... I'm not sure where to start, but may I ask you something that may not offend you? Do you know who Mr. Mike is?" Aaron inquired. Juan swallowed, gazing at the sky, and took a sip of water while Aaron waited patiently for her response.

"So she told you about him? He's my dad," she revealed, leaving Aaron wide-eyed in surprise.

"Your dad?" He asked, shocked. Juan nodded in confirmation.

"Yes, she didn't tell you? I'm sorry I didn't share our family story with you. You heard it from Alice and it's fine. I never wanted to talk about it because it always breaks my heart whenever I think about it," she explained, keeping Aaron on the edge of his seat, eager to hear her story.

"He passed away a few months before you came into our lives. He was murdered by the night monsters that roam the streets," she disclosed, leaving Aaron silently contemplating her words.

He sensed something he didn't want to believe. Based on the text he had read, it seemed Alice had allied with those monsters to kill his own father? for what?. And it's obvious that The Black Dragons could be the monsters wandering the night, taking innocent lives. There seemed to be more to the story and it's still unclear.

"Um, I'm so sorry, Juan, but can I ask what happened? How did the monsters come after him?" Aaron inquired.

"That night, he was one of the first hunters. He formed a team when the killings became too frequent, that's after my mum was a victim. I remember warning him not to go that night; we were terrified, me and Alice" Juan recalled, tears streaming down her face as she wiped them away.

"Sadly, he went and never returned. He sacrificed his life for the people. His team continues to this day. The hunters remain the biggest threat to the monsters, even though they are still largely invincible," she explained, leaving Aaron speechless.

Aaron could no longer be suspicions about Alice; they had shifted in her favor. It appeared that they had killed her father and were now threatening her as well.

"And Alice...?" Aaron inquired.

"She was the most devastated. She became silent and refused to speak to me for days. We loved him; he was the most caring father," Juan revealed, leaving Aaron hesitant to share what was on his mind. He needed to delve deeper into this. He believed that maybe Alice seriously needs help to be free from those guys, they might be using her while threatening her with something else.
