Chapter 15

Emily's POV

Something smelled good, I thought as I took a deep breath in my sleep. I wondered what it could be. I sniffed again, half expecting the nauseating smell that came with morning sickness, but it didn't come. All I smelled was the slightly sweet scent of something baking.

I sat up suddenly and opened my eyes. It was night already, the balcony filled with milky light from the moon above. The ceiling above me was white, which was quite different from the painted murals I was used to staring up at in my room. Where was I?

It too me a good minute of groggily staring around to realise that I was in one of the many balconies that lined Ethan's mansion.

I groaned and rubbed my eyes, then stood to my feet. I'd fallen asleep on a recliner, and my flimsy robe had slipped, exposing my bare thighs and other more embarrassing things.
