Isaac did show up the morning after my birthday party with his parents and Second Beta Michael joined as well. Our parents laid down ground rules for us courting each other. Courting? What in the heck. We are mates and I think we could handle this ourselves. The only rule I set forth was that Isaac is to give me my space when I ask. I was still very leery of Isaac. He seemed to accept me as I am but I have fallen for that trap before. Since he can’t feel the mate bond yet I worry that he will be disgusted by me.

We have gone on a few enjoyable dates where Isaac said all the right things. Tonight we plan on going on a run together and I feel this will be the biggest test for my young mate.

I arrived a bit before the set time at the clearing and, to my surprise, Isaac was already there. He looked nervous for this. I approached him, making sure he could hear and smell my approach. His smell of rain and grass has been getting stronger which, I have been told, means my bond with him
