Ch 61: Father's Daughter

Azrael pov:

Amilia hasn't left our room in a week, she just stays inside, crying or sleeping. She's depressed and has every right to be, what happened was horrible. I held her tightly, whispering sweet nothings to her as she cried and begged for forgiveness.

There was no need for it, I didn't blame her, I blamed Greenwood and his men. I'd gotten a call from him before the attack, only I didn't think he knew about her pregnancy.

'You'll lose something greater than her Azrael.'

His words echoed in my head. I had my men scouring for the people that did it, needing to right this wrong. During this time of search I've been at her side, doing anything and everything to keep her calm and reassured.

I haven't cried, I didn't when Josephine died and I haven't when Amilia lost the baby. All I felt was anger, a deep burning rage inside my body. It was late, Amilia slept as I moved out of the room, getting a call from Lily.

"What is it?" I sounded harsher than I wanted but didn't care.
