Morning routine

"Riya's point of view,"

The beep of my phone's alarm clock disturbed my sleep.

I snoozed the alarm and went back to sleep.

Harsh yanked himself out of his slumber and spoke to me.

"Riya, it's 7:10 a.m., wake up."

"What?"

In disbelief, I sprung to my feet and dashed to the restroom.

Harsh knocked on the restroom door and called my name.

"What do you want?" I asked sternly.

"Could you please share the bathroom with me?"

"I'm also running late," he said, his puppy eyes flashing at me.

I responded quickly.

"Why not?"

We brushed our teeth together, and I resisted my urges by walking to the kitchen and leaving him alone in the bathroom.

To make it drinkable, I heated the water. I fetched the bread from the fridge for sandwiches and sliced the vegetables to make vegetable sandwiches while I waited for the tea to be made and drank my glass of water... I clean up the leftover teapots that have been lying around all night. Tea and sandwiches are being prepared.

The alarm's beep beep reminded me of the passing of time, so I quickly placed the breakfast on the table.

I hurried inside, giving Harsh a glass of lukewarm water to drink as he came from the bathroom clutching a towel. From inside the restroom, I extended my hand and asked for a towel, which he kindly delivered.

He reminded me it was 7:40 a.m.

I hurriedly entered the room and began wearing a mint-colored bra and black pants.

"I am here now," he adds, noticing me. "Are you going to give me a treat?" he asks.

"You don't see, I'm getting late, and you're speaking as if I'm dressing in front of you for the first time," I reprimand him. "Harsh, we've been living together for 7 years."

"I was only kidding," he said as he combed his hair and examined my features in the mirror.

"What should I wear today?" I asked, opening my almirah with a puzzled expression.

"Why?" he inquired.

"There is no iron on any of the garments," I whispered, as I gave him a sidelong glance.

After examining my eyes, he remarked this.

"No, I am also getting late."

"Please do that; it won't take over two minutes." I made the request.

He knew I was stubborn, so he quickly consented and took out the iron, which he plugged into a socket near the bed.

The alarm goes off at 07:50 a.m.

I put on my blue-dialed wristwatch after braiding my hair into a high ponytail and applying body moisturizer to my body and face.

And wore a watch on my wrist to remind myself that I had learned from my previous mistakes. (I neglected to wear my watch the other day because I was in a hurry.)

"Take all your garments," he ordered, pulling the iron plug out of the socket.

"Thank you, darling," I said cheerfully as I hurriedly changed into my clothes.

He chastises me. "You should iron your clothes ahead of time; rushing at the last minute is not a smart idea."

I ignored his advice and answered, "Give lectures later, have breakfast; it must be cold by now."

As he exited the bedroom and entered the hallway, he remarked to me, "You eat breakfast."

"How hard I've labored! Should I throw it out?" I murmured as I chased him down.

When he heard my blackmailing tone, his steps came to a standstill, and he quickly sipped tea before stating, "Now I depart."

"No, there's still a sandwich."

"Should I pack it? "I inquired.

"Yes, but hurry." He remarked to me as I raced out of the kitchen, wrapped the sandwich in foil paper, and presented it to him in the lunch box,"Wait a minute," I said.

"What happened now?" He exclaimed angrily.

I ran to the fridge and handed him the apple, saying, "You forgot the apple."

I said stiffly, "And you eat it with remembrance."

He screamed furiously, "Please let me go now!"

"Of course," I responded calmly.

As he said his goodbyes, he kissed me on the forehead.

"It's difficult to be enraged with you." He stated it with a beautiful smile.

My grin calms down at his fury.

He hurriedly descended the stairs, grabbing his car key from the wooden dining table.

I hurriedly exited the bedroom with my laptop bag and mobile handbag as soon as he left, closing the hall and drinking tea.

I took a taxi to the office, which was close to the major road.

Harsh's workplace was direct across the street from mine, so he had to leave before me.

He would occasionally drop me off at work for an abrupt break, but he would always make certain that I did not become a target of office gossip because of his actions. As a result, I kept away from him from my working life.
