Chapter 15
Scarlet decided to leave Ace's home. Nevertheless, when she was acting on it a gut wrenching feeling of sadness occupied the pit of her stomach. The very origin of the thought got emptiness in her heart. This is what she wanted. Then why was she feeling sad instead of staying happy?
A lone tear fell out from the corner of her eye. Scarlet gulped and quickly wiped the tear away as if it was blunder not to be committed at any cost. This was the moment of happiness, not meant for crying, she pep-talked to herself.
Scarlett contemplated if she needed to inform Ace of her leaving the house but the scene that went the previous morning rehearsed in her brain. Ace almost broke the wall with anger. Her heart missed a beat with fear and she decided not to inform him of anything.

Scarlet had the opportunity to select out of four vacant quarters. The first one was in the Gray and white theme. She found it purely a male's choice. The second one was complete with white walls. Scarlet felt it bland and lifeless. The third one was purple and green. She was a difficult woman to please. Scarlet found the color choice to be gaudy. The fourth quarter was neither too simple nor too fancy. It was painted in cream and pink, a simple two-room set consisting of a front room with an attached kitchen and a washroom. Ace returned home that night with cheerfulness. He played for some time with Angel in the park and then returned home. Scarlet was happy that after a long time finally she could see some happiness in the features of Ace. Since the murder attempt upon her, he had been a lot worried. Though he acts jovial and smiling after so many months of staying with Ace, she could at least decipher when he is acting and when he is in real happiness. Scarlet took a warm shower and was waiting for Ace in the bedroom. But when he did not return even after half an hour she stepped down the stairs. Probably her delight was only short lived as she could hear him screaming at someone on the phone. "Damn it! Because she is my wife."

Ace sat on one of the super soft leather sofas in the sitting room and was observing Scarlet without making himself obvious as she completed her assignment. She looks so innocent and pristine with a pencil playing between her lips.
