Chapter Twenty Six

“What?” I asked him in shock. My head started spinning and I was feeling light-headed. I sat down on the couch and blood drained from both of our faces. I couldn’t believe it. Why would Alex kill Chad when he asked us to release him? They were in this together. Nothing made sense but I was sure of one thing. Alex was capable of killing and wouldn’t hesitate to do so. I was shaking and found it difficult to breathe normally.

“Alex shot him and escaped but they were able to catch the other guys helping him, he didn’t say much in detail. I’m going to meet James, he is down at the police station.” He was pacing around equally shocked as I was.

“I’m coming with you.” I wanted to know what happened. As much as I hated Chad, I didn’t want him dead.

“Alright, let’s get going.” I was surprised he didn’t put up a fight. We both got dressed quickly and went to see James.
