Something is wrong with Jules, and if it’s what I suspect, I’m going to kill my brother and his mate. It’s no coincidence that Jules is getting headaches after Amara and Kell agreed to the mind wipe. Something went wrong, and Jules is now suffering because of it. I wanted to tell her the truth so badly, but I couldn’t find the words. It doesn’t help that she admitted to getting headaches. Fuck!
My swollen lips tingle as I gaze up into the ceiling. God, that kiss was amazing, and touching her was beyond anything I imagined it would be. She was so responsive and sweet that stopping was almost impossible. To be honest, the only reason I stopped was that I could feel myself turning. My fangs descended, and my eyes were glowing.

Chapter 11: TellJules Morning arrives quickly, with me feeling the effects of my late night. I couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss. It felt so good to be in his arms. A knock on the door startles me from my sleep, almost making me fall out of Rowan’s bed. I glare at the door as I rub my tired eyes and push my hair back. I look at the couch, but Rowan’s not there. Yet, I can hear the sound of running water. He must be taking a shower. Not knowing what else to do, I open the door. To my horror, there’s a gorgeous woman standing on the other side of the door. She’s wearing a tight crop top and very short cuto
Chapter 12: DiscoveriesRowan “This better be good, Tristan. I have something important to do.” Tristan crooks a brow at my irritated tone. “I’m sorry for interrupting you, your highness, but I thought you might be interested in what we discovered.” Rubbing my bare neck, I take a deep breath and face my brother. Is it weird that it’s natural to consider him my brother now? “Okay, fine. Tell me what you found.” Tristan gestures for me to follow him through the Halo’s basement. “Okay, so two things.” He says as soon as we step into a sterilized medical examination lab. The cr
Chapter 13: Painful to KnowJules Dr. Parker meets me at the front door as soon as I arrive at the research clinic, which I will admit is a bit odd. I mean, what doctor meets their patient at the front door? I keep my cool as he leads me to the elevators. “Ms. Romanis, I know that your father wanted us to run a sleep test for you. We have prepared a room for you. Please, follow me.” I follow quietly behind the doctor, scanning each door and anything else that I can spot in hopes of finding answers. My phone vibrates in my pocket, but I ignore it. I get the feeling that he might have a problem with me carrying a cell phon
Chapter 14: Now I knowRowan I look down at Jules’ still form as thoughts run through my mind. I didn’t know what to do after she passed out, so I brought her back to my place. She looks so peaceful lying in the middle of my bed. Thankfully, I was able to stop the bleeding. But not before I got a taste of her blood. Now, I’m one-hundred percent sure that Jules is my mate. After tasting the sweet ambrosia that runs through her veins, there’s no doubt that she’s mine. Other than the fact that it looks like someone shot her with some kind of poisonous bullet, I also noticed that the knife she produced is the same one I found near one of the dead creatures. I stopped the blood using the coagulant in my saliva, which would have probably grossed her out if she had been conscious. Tha
Jules My first mistake is that I rush into my house without giving a thought to who might be sneaking around. I’m close to my room when my father’s imposing shadow stops in front of me. His features are set in a scowl, and his hands are balled into fists. “I heard they weren’t able to run the sleep test on you.” I swallow hard. “Yeah, Dr. Caldwell said that there was some kind of emergency, and they couldn’t do it.” His eyes narrow into sits, and his lips pucker. “Is that so?” I nod my head. “Yeah,”&nb
“I don’t know what I am, Ro.” She whispers after a couple of seconds. “Since prom, I’ve woken up in the middle of the forest with a knife in my hand, and I have no clue how I got there or where the knife came from. All I know is that I’ve been killing monsters, and I’d get these terrible migraines afterward. About a week ago, I went to my father’s clinic for some tests and stumbled upon something that made me suspicious. After that, my powers seemed to sharpen, and I was able to consciously use my abilities while I was awake. It was the first time that I could control it. Last night, I was at my dad’s institute because they were going to run a sleep test on me, but something occurred, and it was postponed.” A guilty pang strikes me again, but I don
Jules I can’t believe I’m back here again. Yet, when Rowan said that he wanted to be with me, every girly part in my body stood to attention and responded to his manly voice. I look over as Rowan sorts through his kitchen cabinets and begins to heat something up. A frightful thought occurs to me at that moment. Is he preparing to drink blood? I mean, I’ve seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer and how one of the characters would heat blood up in the microwave. I cringe at the idea. Rowan instantly notices my distaste and rolls his eyes. “It’s not blood. I don’t drink blood like that. I have a small refrigerator where I keep bags, or I go to my brother’s Halo and take it from a donor.
Chapter 18: I didn’t know thatRowan As soon as I get to the Halo, I head to Tristan’s office. He is sitting behind his desk, tapping away at his laptop, which seems mundane, considering that he’s a very powerful vampire. His eyes hone in on mine as soon as I stop near his desk, and his brow furrows with consternation. “Where the hell have you been, Ro? I’ve been calling and texting all night.” “Sorry, bro, I’ve been busy doing some sleuthing.” He arches a brow. “And what exactly have you found?”
