My eyes were deceiving me. It was only Sandra standing there.

Adrian and I exchanged knowing glances. We shared an understanding and with a tint of blush on my cheeks, I quickly pulled farther away from Adrian, feeling embarrassed and awkward.

I glanced at Sarah, desperately hoping she wouldn't pry into our intimate moment. However, she did just that.

"What's going on between you two?" she asked slyly, a mischievous spark in her eyes.

I feigned ignorance, trying to play it cool. "Nothing. We were just enjoying the peacefulness by the stream."

Adrian sensed what was going on and excused himself.

Sarah wasn't convinced and persisted. "Come on, Lily. I can see it in your eyes. There's something more going on here, isn't there?"

I stood up feeling uncomfortable, avoiding her gaze. "Sarah, really, it's nothing. Let's not make a big deal out of it."
