“What do you think she’s doing in there, babe?” I asked Aira. She was still pretty focused on looking at the mirror and waiting to see Natalia walk out of that apartment complex. She turned to me with a firm look on her face. I almost wanted to laugh but I stopped myself.
[Terrence]
“I think… Amelia is in there.” She said. I was surprised that she thought about that. I would think that it would be too obvious for Amelia to be there but when Aira said it, I want to believe her. I decided to ask her why thought that way. I wanted to know what she was thinking about the whole situation.
“Why do you think so?” I asked. She pondered about my question for a bit before she answered.
“The way she anxiously
[Kael]After I got home from work, I focused on the new product’s launch. I don’t want any more problems popping up so I’m making sure that everything goes smoothly. I buried myself in paperwork so I wouldn’t have to think about bad thoughts. I wanted to believe that Amelia is safe somewhere and she left out of her own volition. I don’t want to even think about the possibility of her getting hurt because of me. I tried not to think about it but it was getting harder and harder to stop. I just wish that she’s happy right now. I didn’t notice that I was getting tired from looking through a bunch of paperwork. I kept going and going and eventually I fell asleep on my desk again.I woke up the next morning with a sore back and stiff neck. I realized I had fallen asleep so I quickly rearranged the papers on my desk and
[Kael]“Sir, we have investigated the address that you provided. Based on the unit number of the apartment complex written on that address, a different tenant has been living there however, upon further questioning, the lady seemed to be hinting that she knows something about those bento boxes.” The PI reported. My mind was a mess right now. There was too much information and I couldn’t fully grasp everything. But I did realize something; if the delivery boy picked up the bento box from a different unit, that must mean that someone is keeping Amelia from sending a message to the outside and the person living in that unit is helping her, which could only mean that Amelia must be somewhere near that lady’s unit.“Check the neighboring tenants of that lady. She must be helping her send a message to us since Amelia can’t do
[Kael]“Terrence, I just got off work and I’m heading to the coordinates you sent this morning. Can you tell what you and Aira saw while following Natalia?” I asked. Before I could even start driving, Terrence stopped me.“No! Don’t go to that apartment complex just yet!” He said. I quickly rebutted and asked him why not. He told me that Natalia must have someone inside that apartment complex that’s guarding Amelia. In any case, if we barged in there without knowing what unit she’s in, whoever is guarding her can easily alert Natalia and they can escape and take Amelia away. As much as I hated the thought of not being able to save Amelia right now, Terrence has a point.“We’re still following Natalia and she’s acting even stranger than she
[Kael]In a few days, our new product will be launched. Everything is going so smoothly that it’s almost suspicious. I couldn’t take any chance while we’re this close to the launch. I thought about a plan just in case something happens at the launch. It’s sort of my back up plan so I’m hoping nothing happens and I won’t have to use it. In any case, I need to focus on the project and finish it immediately so I can finally make a move to help Amelia. According to my sources, Amelia is still in that apartment complex. I increased the amount of people who are surveilling the location and even if Natalia attempts to transfer Amelia to a different location, I’ll find out about it.“Hey Kael, I just dropped by to give you the remaining documents. Are you still thinking about how to get Amelia away from Natalia?&rdq
[Kael]“Isn’t it because she wants me all to herself and she couldn’t stand the thought of me being with Amelia?” I said but Terrence shook his head. I was even more confused. What else could be the reason?“Do you think that’s a good enough reason to kidnap someone and put yourself at risk of getting arrested? I don’t think so. Think harder, what else could make her do this to Amelia?” Terrence said. I thought about all the other reasons why she would do it. I do agree with Terrence a bit, it seems what I said was too light of a reason to kidnap someone and keep them locked up away from me. That wasn’t enough, then what am I missing? Suddenly, I thought about something. It was something I wasn’t even considering but it suddenly popped into my head.&
[Terrence] While we were following Natalia, we noticed that she kept coming back to a pharmacy near where the apartment complex was. At first, we thought she was just going over there to get some medicine for herself but she’s gone back to the same pharmacy 3 times in the last hour. Aira and I were really curious about what she’s been buying. “Do you have any guesses?” I asked Aira. She kept looking over at the pharmacy where Natalia was in and she thought about my question. I was trying to guess as well but whenever Natalia would leave the pharmacy, she would always bring a big paper bag with her. It looked like she filled the paper bag every time. We could barely see what was inside it.
[Terrence] “I’m guessing it’s probably medicine, a lot of it. Could she have an addiction?” Aira asked. I’m not gonna lie, that was something that was plausible. There was a possibility that she could be on drugs but if that were the case then the pharmacy would have alerted the authorities and they wouldn’t sell her so much if they suspected something. As we were speculating, Natalia walked out of the pharmacy and once again she was carrying a big paper bag, this time we could see something poking out at the top of it. I couldn’t see it all that well but I noticed that Aira has been paying really close attention. Natalia left and went back to the apartment. Aira suddenly opened the car door and she got out. I tried to stop her but she immediately stopped me. “Stay in the car. I’ll go by myself. If she comes back, call me immediately and I’ll try to sne
[Terrence] It’s been a few minutes and Aira wasn’t back yet. I was getting extremely worried about her safety. It didn’t look like Natalia would be back to this pharmacy any time soon so it was a bit of a relief. But still, I don’t know what’s taking Aira so long. I was about to step out and follow her when I saw that she left the pharmacy. I waited for her to come to the car. As soon as she walked in, she had a worried look on her face. “So, did you find anything?” I asked. She was spacing out and just staring at her feet. I tried asking again but it seemed like she couldn’t hear me. I tapped her on the shoulder to snap her out of her trance and it worked. She looked at me and I could tell that she found out ab
