I was not only surprised to know that Rebecas had been able to recognize who Nikki was, I wouldn't have if I were in her shoes. I was also amused by her confidence to question the lady especially given where they had both ended things the last time.
"I asked you a question, what are you doing here?" Rebecca stepped forward, closing the gap between her and Nikki.
"Why? Do you own this place?" Nikki moved even closer to her, breaching the few inches Rebecca had left open. Her hand was on her waist and she eyed Rebecca from head to toes. I found it a difficult task to conceal this bravery. How was she talking in that confident manner when all she did was act like a chicken around me.
Rebecca was lost on what next to say. Like myself, it seemed she hadn't been expecting the reaction.
The make up artist looked confused and turned to look at me unsure. "Um, sir, she's ready. I'll take your credit card for paymen
"Wait!" I stood to my feet in a fast motion."Mom, she's shy, don't allow her do this." Chad came to my rescue, noticing the discomfort I put on. It was one thing to pretend to be his fiance. But having him kiss my lips on purpose wasn't game and I wouldn't be able to bare the embarrassment that followed.Chad's mom stood to her feet and walked in my direction. She took me aback by cupping my cheeks, "I'm so sorry for putting you under pressure, it's just, it has always really been my dream to watch my son share a kiss with the woman he loves." She must have no idea that I was aware of who Rebecca was because her manner of speaking related to ignorance."But it's fine." She sniffed, withdrawing her hands, "you really don't have to. It would have been pleasant to watch but do as you please, I'm not going to force you even though it should have been my dream come true, but it's definitely okay." She smiled. Speak about drama
I stood to my feet with wide eyes. Was it possible that she had heard us?A smile appeared on her blank face, "why do you appear so shocked to see me dear?" She chuckled, stepping forward with the tray in her hands and setting it on the table in front of us.
I brought the phone to my view and hung up after seeing that the phone call was from none other than Tom. I hadn't spoken to him in a while and had no idea why he would call at the moment but I was willing to strangle him for ruining what could easily have counted as a job well done."Um." I simply blurted, staring between Cole and his confused mother as she seemed to
"Nikki what are you doing? What do you mean you want to quit?" Chad stood in front of me, accessing me from head to tow. If I hadn't eavesdropped on his conversation with David Park, I would have been distracted by how worried he sounded."Because I work here, and I have the right to leave this organisation when I feel the need to." I reminded him, handing the letter
After Chad pulled away from me, I stared at him with a lost expression. There was no way in the world I was seeing things right.I widened my eyes, closed them, reopened them to his presence. "Wh..why are you here?" I stuttered, trying to process what had just happened between us. I was lost on why he would show up."Are you going to let me in?" He ran his fingers through his hair.I moved aside so I could let him in, although I was still lost from all that was going on. "O...okay?"I secured the door locked with a click of the key. "Chad, why are you here?" I no longer had reasons to refer to him as Mr. Bush. I knew any other normal person would have freaked out and would care to know why they were kissed all of a sudden, and against their will but I was curious as to why he was here."Nikki." He held me in his arms and shook me a little. "I'm sorry for what I did." He held me at arm's length and heaved a sigh as he got lost in my eyes. "I know I don't deserve forgiveness but I…" he
Cole must have thought he had heard wrong because he stared at me like I had grown three more heads. I wished he would understand how uncomfortable he was making me, and just give me a straight answer. I looked at everywhere in the room except from him. "Nikki, what are you saying?" He shook his head in response, finally speaking. "I mean…" he stepped backward
I got to the scene I was certain the accident had occured but other than the place being out of access, a few other people were scattered around with news reporter talking to their specific cameras. There was a heavy traffic jam, knowing this was a major route in the city. The murmurs were deafening and they blended into one voice. The smell of blood made my stomach clench tight. I turned to look at the woman standing next to me, her phone serving a camera purpose as she took snaps of the disaster."Excuse me, what about the people involved in the accident?" I had to know."They were driven in an ambulance to City hospital I think, that's how much I know." She said with a smile, returning her focus to the action she had been performing."Oh dear God." I found my way out of the crowd. There was no way I could find a cab to get me there in time when considering the hold up that was in front
The phone in my hand stopped ringing. I sighed in relief, hoping they would give up and ask the receptionist for information instead.I was about to turn around when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
