Chapter 11 : The Veranda

"What did you say?" exclaimed Leonardo.

"The woman you ran over on the street is no longer alive." Angela said flatly.

"I didn't hit that girl; she was the one running past, so I hit her; it was an accident!"

Angela sensed the seriousness in Leonardo's reactions; he hadn't expected Angela's news. She grumbled, adding, "Someone killed her. The man driving the black car killed her. "

Leonardo couldn't believe the woman who had caused his blindness had died. "Are you telling the truth?"

"Yeah, and whoever those people are... whatever their motivation for killing her was... they will pay the price; Carma is real, and they will suffer as the girl did."

Leonardo stopped speaking. He reflected deeply. "I want my hot coffee," he said quietly.

Angela went to the kitchen to prepare coffee for Leonardo. She was about to return to Leonardo's room when Leonardo's mother approached her.

"Is that coffee for Leonardo?" Mrs. Vera asked.

"Yes, Mrs. Vera."

"How is he doing?"
