Chapter 43 : Silhouette

Angela was frustrated after looking around the room. Mrs. Vera was telling the truth. There was not even a white cloth in the basement. Leonardo was standing on the last step of the stairs down to the basement ground. He was paying close attention to his surroundings.

"Perhaps we should go back upstairs," Leonardo suggested, "you’ve said there was no lady in white around here. Perhaps what you saw was a whitened section of the wall that formed a white image in the dark. A reflection from the light above the stairs, which had bounced on the wall below. "

"Wait," Angela said, still inspecting the basement from corner to corner and from one book to the next. She's looking for the book that may have fallen on her head and caused her to pass out hours ago. But nothing matched the type of book she was looking for. All of the books were light and couldn't even kill the smallest rat. "It wasn't a book," she concluded.
