Eleanor's POV.
I dropped the pizza silently on the bedside table and the drink as I drew closer to Henry who was already fast asleep on my bed.
He definitely looked different from the bad playboy he was, right now he looked more vulnerable than usual, no heavy expression guarding his emotions, he was peaceful.
His hair fell past his eyes and I sat beside him and reached for the bang of hair covering his left eye. It was soft under my touch and I couldn't help but smile when he shivered.
I pulled back the hair with a tip of my finger and his face enhanced under the soft glow of my bedside lamp. Henry was handsome no doubt, with those blue eyes that were closed right now, sharp jawline that could cut through the thickest diamond and high cheekbones. His lips were turned in a straight line missing the usual smirk he wore.
I've never seen him look so peaceful before, and there was something so soft about the way he
Henry's POV.I woke up first. It was weird when I first opened my eyes. The sun was shining outside and seeping past the window blinds falling on my face and warming my skin.Secondly, I felt a thick material over my body, it was a huge duvet that covered my torso to my feet. It was obvious I was taller than it and a small smile came on my face as I finally sat up.It was weird that I woke up this way, it didn't feel like the way I did where I woke up with shock or fear or like I hadn't gotten enough sleep.I just woke up with no feelings and while it wasn't totally peaceful or anything, it still felt better than other days.I didn't know why but I remembered I had a dream of my past once more and I was thankful for my subconscious for not showing me the ones of the dark gloomy days.I blinked and adju
Henry's POV.I shook my head, dispersing all thoughts about Eleanor as I headed to my motorcycle that was parked just at Eleanor's window.I ignored the helmet as I usually did and climbed the bike, started the ignition as I raced back home.I passed by a coffee shop and decided to get some coffee before I went home so I parked at the entrance before heading in. A cold wave from the AC and I shivered."Shit, I forgot my jersey at Eleanor's," I whispered as I walked to the counter to get my order."You seem to spend a lot of time with her lately," A voice sounded from behind me and I recognized it from the first word that escaped his lips.I said nothing to that as my blood heated under my skin and I clenched my fist. Why did he have to be here right now? He just had to ruin the day that had started well for the fi
Henry's POV."So don't test me Henry," Ryder said before pushing me backwards as I stumbled into a customer that was behind me."Hey, you both should watch it!" The girl yelled and I felt her intense stares burning into me but I didn't turn back to look at her as I kept my gaze on Ryder who smirked, brushed his shoulders before turning away from me as he left the shop.I clenched my fists angrily, feeling my anger boil at his words. If there was anything that I knew very well about Ryder it was that he didn't like to be told what to do.Tell Ryder to not drop the plates and that was exactly what he was going to do. Tell him not to play football and he was going to do that with his whole heart while smirking at you and secretly letting you know that he was doing exactly what you said he shouldn't.Ryder, like me, hated a challenge and knowin
Henry's POV.I didn't know if I hadn't heard properly or if the woman had actually just asked of Ryder to Rose. While my brain tried to comprehend why a total stranger would ask for my greatest enemy like she knew him, my eyes were busy trying to find the resemblance in the little girl.It was like I hadn't seen her properly the first time and not my mind was finally putting the pieces together. She had black curly hair that was decorated with ribbons that looked like sword and armor. Her eyes were the most fascinating thing about her. They were grey, the same shade as Ryder's! And I could finally see how she was just like the female version of Ryder. The same way she frowned was the same way he did.And even though he had smiled only when we were younger, they were exactly similar to his. There was no doubt that this was Ryder's little sister! And this woman?I looked back at her, she had bright b
Eleanor's POV."Go Lions!" Students yelled as they walked into the hallway. It was a new week at school and with the opening game this weekend, everyone was doing their best to cheer on the school Football team. Posters of Henry were everywhere in the hallways and in the classroom, as he was the face of the team, captain and star player. His team members' pictures were also pasted too but not as much as his. I tried to look away from his picture when I encountered one but I just couldn't, those green eyes were hard to look away from."Go Lions!" Students cheered as they walked past me, holding a huge hand made design of a lion's head. I was surprised I hadn't seen the lion mascot yet.I slammed my locker shut as Tina talked beside me about her cat and how he had gotten better over the weekend. My ears were almost falling apart from the whole cat thing, but I knew how important it was to Tina so I pretend
Eleanor's POV.I gasped in shock at Jane's words but it was like my tongue has been tied up or my brain frozen, unable to conjure words to respond back to her."What? Cat got your tongue or you've been using the tongue for other things?" She asked as the girls laughed at her attempt at a joke."Give it back," I finally said as I reached for the piece of paper in her hand.A few students had stepped to the entrance behind me as they watched the scene and even went to call the others who had settled in their seats already.I was starting to feel really embarrassed from the attention I was getting from the students.Jane drew back her hand as she laughed, taking the paper away from my reach."What is going on with you and Henry anyways? You seem to be trying so hard to get to him," Jane said and a few of the students gasped from behind me and I shook my head."Nothing. We are
Henry's POV.I stopped in my tracks when Eleanor went out of view and I frowned. It was the first day of school this week and she had already started crying. It pained me that I hadn't seen her or been here earlier. And as George drew my attention to Eleanor, I felt the little strip of happiness torn away from me in a flash.Though half of her face was shielded by her hair,I still knew she was in tears and as I ran to her, it broke me that she didn't want to see me.Now she was out of my reach and I stood there, confused and angry."What was that about?" Leopard asked as he came to stand beside me and I didn't respond to him as I looked back at where Eleanor had been standing to see pieces of paper littered around the floor.Has someone torn her homework? Because I knew she must have been busy doing it last night when she slept with h
Eleanor's POV.I went to the school roof after the girls had left the bathroom, thankfully I didn't find anyone here and the sun had started to shine down.I found a small bench and shade above it so I walked to it, dropping against it.My mind flashed with the image of Henry running towards me and the tears filled my eyes once more as I blinked them back and rested my back against the chair.Immediately, my phone chimed in my pocket and I took it out to find a text from Charles asking me if I wanted to hang out tonight..I sighed and texted back a no and placed the phone in my pocket as I looked up at the sky tiredly.I hadn't gotten enough sleep last night either and right now I didn't want to go back to class even though it was going to get me into trouble. It was better to have detention than go back to face everyone's intens
