Eleanor's POV.
The next day at school was a little awkward, mostly because I had just spent the previous day at Henry's house and as much as I would like to erase that memory, it was burned in my mind.
I adjusted my bag as I walked through the busy hallway to my locker, students bumped into me like they didn't see me, and not that it mattered anyway. I was invisible in this school. That was why I couldn't wait to leave.
It was senior year already and soon I'll start applying to colleges, and move away from this town. I sighed as I got to my locker and started to unlock it when someone came to my line of sight.
"Look who's back!" A loud cheerful voice said and I turned to see my only friend Tina.
Tina was the only person who has spoken to me in freshman year and we've been good friends since then. Her black hair had been dyed bright pink and her green eyes shone with excitement.
"Took you so long." I murmured before ta
Henry's POV.Class was boring as usual and it angered me a little that Eleanor was not in the same class that I was in. I didn't want to admit but Eleanor was cute in an innocent way. Her green eyes that widened in shock when I leaned towards her reflected in my mind and I smiled. She was obviously different from the other girls I had been with. She hadn't made any attempt to fill herself around me, and coupled with the fact that she detested me made me want to try hard for her to see me in a whole new light.I was surprised to see her on my list. Apparently, when Leopard, George and I were in freshman year, we made a list of each of the girls in our year that we had to sleep with. The one with the most body count wins. And I was ranking on the challenge.Eleanor wasn't even the type of girl I even imagined to be on the list, she was a typical nerd except for their big glasses. She wasn't even in any clique except the swimming club. She didn't
Eleanor's POV.I was excited. This was the first time I was ever going to be invited to a party and I couldn't stop the excitement that flowed through my veins.I opened the door to my house, closing it behind me as I looked around. There was no one home which wasn't surprising. My mother was a nurse and was barely home, while my dad was a banker, he would be back in the evening. My sister Annie was probably at college or just skipping it with friends.I couldn't care less.I went to the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water and chugging it down before heading upstairs to my room. The party was going to start by eight and I had to look for what to wear.Throwing my bag on my bed, I went to my wardrobe and started to go through it. I sighed in disappointment, most of my outfits consisted of anime merch or baggy t-shirts and sweatpants."Wear something sexy.." Henry's voice resonated in my head and I gr
Eleanor's POV.I tried hard not to show the discomfort on my face Jane saw through it and smiled wider. I couldn't play this game, it was a dangerous game I had heard so much about and I knew Jane and Henry weren't going to keep it PG. I started to stand up when I saw Charles still standing ahead, waiting for me.Ugh. I couldn't deal with him right now, and Tina still wasn't here. I glanced at my phone and there was no call or text from her. To think she was the one who had been even more excited to come and now she wasn't here."Scared?" Jane asked, snapping me out of my thoughts and I felt everyone's gaze on me, I gulped nervously."No. Are you?" I returned and there was shouting once more especially from the guys and I felt a boost in my confidence at the hailings a few patting my back."Wow." Henry whispered in my ears and I felt shivers run down my spine. "I like
Eleanor's POV.Luckily, the bottle didn't land on me and the next few rounds didn't fall on either Henry or Jane. For that I was happy, and it was rather interesting watching others play. A girl had been dared to lap dance against Henry who had relaxed on the chair in anticipation.Seems like Henry was the hottest snack in the room and girls literally pleaded with Jane to let them have a piece of him which he took in stride.I still hadn't seen Tina and I made a promise to give her a call when I was done. We had gone into the night and I knew it was almost eleven. I would be leaving as soon as the game was over.My vision had also started to tilt and I was starting to feel dizzy, it had started just after I had taken the alcohol. It seemed like I had low tolerance for it and I was already feeling drunk. I gulped and Henry turned to me, pushing the girl who had been dar
Eleanor's POV.The next few seconds were silent and everyone watched me in shock. I quickly realized what I had gone and drew back my hand from Henry who even turned to me in shock.I looked up to see Ryder staring at me in confusion, like he was trying to figure out why I had held Henry like that but Jane quickly stepped in the center of them, drawing the attention back to herself."Calm down boys. I invited West High, so everyone should welcome them tonight. It's a new semester and it's good if we start on a good plane, for tonight let's forget we are enemies and party all night!" Jane yelled and everyone roared in response. The music came back on and everyone continued what they had been doing, instantly forgetting that there was a fight that had almost broken out moments ago.Four of the West High students broke away from the group and went to
Henry's POV.I held onto Eleanor as I pulled her away from Ryder who watched us with keen interest. I hated being in this situation because it only gave Ryder the upper hand, it made me appear weak and gave the impression that I liked Eleanor."What?" Eleanor said as she staggered before I held onto her tighter and dragged her away from everyone's gaze."Come on." I said as I pulled her against me and she closed her eyes drowsily and leaned against me."Who's she to you?" I heard Ryder ask from behind me, I turned to see him standing and placing the cigarette back on his lips, smirking proudly."No one." I responded briefly before walking out of Jane's home with Eleanor in my arms. I led us outside, slamming the door behind me and snatching my car keys from my pocket and beeping my car open.I heard Eleanor sniff and I pulled open the
Henry's POV.I was dreaming again. I knew I was. The lights were out but noises could be heard from downstairs. I didn't need to hear who it was because it was the same routine that happened every night.I knew what was in this dream because the balloons were still up in my room. It had been my birthday yesterday and after the fake attempt to put up balloons for it, my mother had finally given up and just got me a five-day old cake, it was hard to cut and chew and she claimed it was the cheapest she could find.I remember being excited about it even though it had been bad and the icing was spoiled already. It had been the first time she was doing something like that and I knew it had to do with the fact that she wanted me to seal my lips for when my father arrived from his business trip.At nine years old, I barely grew up with my father around. He was a businessman and was barely a
Eleanor's POV.I woke up with a splitting headache as sun rays heated against my face, and I opened my eyes to the unfamiliar ceiling above me. My ceiling was blue with bright stars I had glued to it during an art project in middle school. But this was white and I struggled to sit up while running my tired eyes. And when I opened them once more, I was met with the messiest room I had ever seen. There were clothes on the desk and chair, an opened laptop that blasted off with music and a guitar sat at the end of the room.As if on cue, the bathroom door opened to reveal Henry in all his glory, he had a white towel wrapped around his waist and droplets of water ran down his biceps leaving a trail behind on that tan skin. His hair was wet and over his face as his tattoo complimented his wet body.I gulped when he ran another towel over his hair, flexing his biceps as he turned to me. I blushed when he finished and his eyes met with mine.&nb
