Chapter 8

Jennifer got up and headed toward the counselor's office.

"Jennifer, yesterday evening, you were the one who rescued an elderly woman at the gate, right?" the counselor questioned her sternly.

Jennifer was dumbfounded. Although she didn't rescue the woman for praise, she didn't expect the counselor to interrogate her with such an attitude. She nodded and said, "Yes, it was me."

The counselor's tone became accusatory. "She passed away. Her family wants to know whether your rescue efforts were in accordance with regulations. Your actions could've caused a delay in treatment. Moreover, you're just a student without a medical license."

Bewildered, Jennifer countered, "She didn't survive even after being taken to the hospital? But, Madam, I made her regain consciousness when I saved her. If I hadn't intervened, she would have died on the spot."
