AVA's POV
"Mother!"
I gasp as I perch from the lying position. My head feels heavy from the dream-like situation. "Tsk... It hurts..." I complained hitting my head, attempting to unclog my ringing ears.
It feels like I've just awakened from death...
"Mother..?" I whisper. I just can't help addressing her a bit softly due to my painful throat. That is when I palm my face after reminding myself of her death.
'Ah right, she isn't going to answer my call...' The death won't answer. I felt stupid for calling her and expecting a reply.
I rub my eyes to get a better vision from the blurriness. "It's dark in here" Maybe we died together because of the explosion? Am I in hell?
I shake my head and stands from the ground. To be more precise a place fills with stars reflected into the watery floor.
"Where in the hell this water comes from!?" I sternly yelled.
Flicking off the water from my hair I set myself straight and adjust my now wet laboratory coat. This coat is supposed to be my favourite one and now it is blended with stinky blood and also damped...
Great!
Maybe because of the constant cleaning and discipline at the base, I started to think a lot about cleanliness and it might have been a case of OCD since I was raised by one. It's weird when I am only concern when it comes to this kind of thing...
Every time she touches something that is not yet cleaned by her own hands, it only lasts 5 to 10 minutes before she changes to another set of clean gloves.
This makes it hard for us, especially when going out to enjoy life within the base. Mostly, we only stay at home and it'll be me who went out for groceries and stuff.
Her case starts when both of her parents died in the early times of the Apocalypse. What can you do when both of your parents died because of the same virus. One will eventually become obsessed with getting rid of them.
Now, I am one of those people too.
After a while of arranging and forcing myself to wash the remaining blood. I let out a satisfying smile, impressed with myself. Even if I am not dry, at least I am not red and reeks of rotten corps.
Now that I have come to my sense, I noticed that there is nothing in here.
As in nothing...not even a soul?
My eyebrows quirked as I jump around the space. A few calls for mother escape my lips as I look into the dark starry sky. Since this place might be the After Death, I should just search for my mother and maybe she would hear me...
And here I thought that I would meet mother again after dying. I guess not. I am more than just a jerk, isn't it?
Just thinking of that makes me feel like crying. Am I really this much of a crybaby? I guess 'tears' has been an uncommon thing for me and learning it after a long time might have a big impact on me.
I have never seen or known tears for years. The people in the base are all arrogant and selfish people. Maybe it's a human trait to treat the rich as their muse and the poor such as lonely poles in the street.
'Crying just make you weak and people will look down on you! Even if you are sad, puts up a brave face and speak back! Let them know who is in charge... Always remember this, Ava...'
That is what my aunt told me. She is an extraordinary woman. Even if the world turns its back on me, she will never do the same thing and I am sure of that.
Sadly, she didn't have a long life to live. When I am 12 she died from a fourth stage cancer and left me to face the harsh world alone.
Though I don't hate her for that, she already has given me a lot of skills to protect myself from any harm. She is the only source that entices me to live my life despite having been looked down upon.
[TEERRETTT]
A strange sound caught my ears which inevitably makes me flinch. That is when I realised that this place is filled with a mass amount of data. It is like standing in the middle of raining green numbers. They were falling endlessly creating a bizarre scene that caught me pensive!
The raining data ultimately compressed with each other and a blinding light is created from the friction. I blocked the light from entering my eyes, but am still curious about what is emerging from it.
Is it the grim ripper? Or, An angel?
Out of the two things, there is nothing I can think of. Unexpectedly, it was nothing like I speculated.
'That thing is a freaking doll?'
-Edited- The girl is in a dire state. Her mind is wholly blank in option. A doll who claimed to be her guardian is glaring at her while waving the tiny embroidered red fan. [You can call me Cheng] The tiny creature closes the fan in his hand hence continues his rambles while the girl listens to it attentively... She must know what is going on with her after death... [A guardian who guides you throughout your way... For your information, you had fallen in a controlled system called the Z system...] Ava's jaws drop in aghast. Since when and
Episode 3.1: Doll in the house"Aaaaahh!!!" Her butt hurts as if she just receives thousands of spanks! In fact... she really did...Ava opens her eyes trying to restrain the pain she felt as soon as her soul drops in the body... The blinding lights shine across the window behind the curtain brightening the dark coloured room. The girl is currently sprawled on the bed. Her limbs limp from the hurtful event that she obtained from the cruel stepmother... "Cheng...why does my butt hurt so much...?" Her voice becomes raspy trying to appease the two swollen red bums. The small silhouette pops out from under the pillow exposing that he was also crushed under it. [Shut up...my nose hurts too!] He exclaims while rubbing the button nose. He looks over the girl and starts to laugh out...
The brown and black attire neatly pictures the leader of the lilacs. Even though in his 40's, he is still a good-looking man. The man strides towards the girl who is sitting on the dark purple sheets. His eyes wet with love and constraint desires and longings to the trembling girl. "Rya honey, daddy is home ... Don't you miss me?" Robert takes a bit of space beside the bed. The girl is in a muddled situation. She keeps still and quiet, staring at the man on guard. A screen pops out to save the situation...[ Jasmine Lilac | Nicknamed Rya ]'Oh...I see...' She fretts. How could she have known this if the character's information is missing? But how is she supposed to respond to this man? She never had a father before to interact with...
"Umm...daddy... Me afraid..." Ava asks to pretend to be anxious to meet them. She grips the man's hand with both and shrinks her neck. Robert eases her mind by giving a little pat as the courage to the girl. Ava puts up sweet smiles that melt the man's heart. He is falling bit by bit and for sure the girl can see it. 'This man doesn't deserve to be loved... Such a pity for you that I am not your real “daughter”...'"Don't be afraid honey... They are all good people... We are family..." (Crack...)He is startled by this ... The word “family” stucks in his head like a fly trapped on a glued-paper... He isn't feeling that great at all...This man never knew the feelings that he
Right now, the girl had accessed the door of the combination of hatred and jealousy. She hopes that this method will bring her closer to the man. This is merely a game but also wishes that she won't need to do this again in the next world..."Aaaa..." Ava closes her eyes seemingly waiting for the food to enter it. The sound of an aeroplane flying in the air and lands inside her mouth. "Num!" close her lips and bulges the two apple cheeks showing the way she is loving the pampering instead the only thing that she wants to do now is shoving all this food inside her stomach... 'I am so hungry! ... uhh'... The male lead stares in shock. He must have never thought that an odd girl is being fed by his father, the lord of the lilacs. The coolest and strictest man he saw in his whole life is feeding an unknown girl which he supposedly “interested” in!... This is absurd!
"Daddy... can't I? " 'Come on old man! Give me some credit for my wonderful service today!' Its been two hours since the presumed incident. Ava is stuck on the soft maroon sofa glaring at the man who is sitting opposite of her. Robert looks at her sternly for the first time. He believes that even if he did tells her about the secret of the light statue, his daughter wouldn't understand the significance of it. In another word, his daughter is a clueless idiot...and he is regretting it... There is nothing he can do..."Rya, daddy wants you to put..." He really wants to urge his daughter to put it back but noticing tears leaking at the corner of her eyes is enough to alleviate him to give it to her. For a long time, finally, someone can inherit the heirloom and she is the right person to obtain what is her's. For an individual to at least receives a blessing is enough to show that he/she
Petals fluttering to the ground sculpting a bunch of colourful paints on the ground. A black-haired man is walking on the fallen petals secretly recollecting his memories of the earlier incident. Millions of questions pop in his head as he tries to soothe his heart from the sudden shock. 'Who exactly is that girl?', ' How does his father know her and why is he doting on her so much?'. Harry rubs the back of his neck while pressing his lips together before letting out the breath that even he didn't notice that he was holding it. Such an obscure scene! There is no way she is just an ordinary little girl for his father would feed her personally. Moreover, the way she looks at him is no less than a stranger but it seems like there is a blind that kept his father away from noticing. The situation is too much for him to take but at last, there is nothing he can do to defy the lord of the house. As he was deep in thought, a petal touches his nose as he brushes it off
The middle-aged woman strides past the hall to confront her husband about his little Rya. Billions of worries almost bury her in the ground. The way she approached him is frighteningly scary that she has to talk with him about the sudden change. She thought that they would have a good conversation and she can give some opinion regarding this matter. She didn't expect to hear such an outrageous occurrence. Afraid that the girl would claim her spot in the heirs, Duchess Vaness has been torturing and lowering her self esteem so that they can one day control the household with the power of her son. She didn't expect to hear a sudden heritage confirmation once she steps in front of the room. Her husband doesn't want to talk to her but it's a relieve that the butler told her everything. He is also one of her close companions in attempt to steal the family's power. He is sick of being their babysitter and decided to join the scheme.
