Feigned unconsciousness

Outside Aldo's room, Sarah's heart felt like a heavy stone, burdened by guilt and regret. Her tears fell freely, each drop a testament to the pain that had consumed her. Time seemed to stretch endlessly as she waited, her thoughts consumed by the man who lay behind that closed door.

Finally, the door to Aldo's room creaked open, and Sarah's heart leaped. The doctor emerged, his face a mix of concern and professionalism. He approached Sarah, his voice gentle yet measured.
