I was your fan.

He was quick to grab her. Her hands were still glued to her eyes

and there was nothing to leverage her fall. Realizing that he may have

gone too far with this little joke he explained himself. “You can open

your eyes we met at Julia’s party last night.”

Her heat calmed almost instantly Julia is her friend whose wedding

she was planning. If he knows Julia then she has to be safe. Sarah slowly

opened her eyes. But the man had not yet let go of her and so she

found herself in a rather odd position when she opened her eyes. One

of those cringe scenes from romance movies when the female lead

trips and get caught ever so gracefully by the male lead. She had always

hated those melodramatic story lines but here she was living one, it

was ridiculous.

As if he had been reading her mind he made sure she was standing

properly and then slowly let go. Maybe he wasn’t the romantic type,

either, but boy was he fine. He looked like he was sculpted by the Gods,

no, like he was a god. Sarah stared, for an ungodly amount of time. She

had always considered herself tall but this man towered over her. The

legs, so long and muscular, what a fine day to wear shorts. And his

abdominal muscles peeking out through the shirt that clung on to his

body, she could count all eight of them and even trace out the mermaid

line. He noticed her checking him out and grinned “do you remember

me now? “He asked playfully. Within seconds that beautiful face of his

was right before her eyes. If she wasn’t covered in melanin she would

be blushing profusely. She snapped out of her daze. What a ridiculous

question to ask, of course she remembered him. He had been the topic

of discussion al through the bachelorette party and the engagement

reenactment party and the presentation party. He was just a guest buthe completely stole the show. In a good way though. All lot of people

started talking about how influential the Canossa’s were for getting him

as a guess at their son’s wedding. However from what her friend Julia

told her, it seemed that he had come because of her not her husband.

Many said that it would be the wedding of the year for that single fact.

She had to be proud after all she had planned the whole thing.

But how did she end up here?

“Mr. Accardi, of course I remember you. I just didn’t know your name

before.” She said trying to avoid his eyes that seemed to pierce through

her clothes, through her skin, her bones, like they could see her soul.

“I told you yesterday on our way here. Do you remember last night?”

“Not at all was I too drunk. Did I do something wrong? I’m so sorry if I

was rude. How did we end up here?”

“I found you sleeping in my car. Then you woke up and said a few

things before asking for a tour of my house. You were pretty drunk so I

thought I’d bring you here first and then take you back when you

sobered up.”

“I can only imagine the inconvenience. I’m so sorry.”

“No need. I was my pleasure. Come have something to eat. We can do

the house tour later.” He said invitingly and gestured for her to follow

him. Every word, every action, every gesture of his was very elegant,

gracious and carried an irresistible sex appeal. She suddenly felt a little

stupid for thinking he wanted to kidnap her. What would a man like

him want with her type? He must have been amused and brought her

here for the fun of it. While she was lost in her thoughts and shame, he

body quietly followed behind him. She missed something special, the

look on his face at this moment was priceless. He grinned as he

remembered the ‘few things’ she had said to him last night in the car.

The dining room was a huge hall connected to the kitchen by yet

another hallway. It was finely decorated and dimly lit, giving off the

vibe of a fancy restaurant. By the time they arrived the foods had been

served. A large table at the center of the room was full of food, like a

buffet. How should two people finish this much food?

“I wasn’t sure what you prefer for breakfast so I had them make a bit

of everything. Eat what you like, next time the meals will be tailored to

suite your taste.”

“No next time “she quickly interrupted, waving her hands hurriedly. “I

won’t get drunk and bother you again. In fact I won’t have another sip

of alcohol till I leave Italy.”

He didn’t address that, he simply handed her a plate and took one

for himself. She decided to settle for a light breakfast to deal with her

hangover. She could tell the food was good, if not for her current state

she would have actually been able to enjoy it. As she chewed down a

piece of bread, she suddenly remembered something.

“About my nationality and everything….. Did I say all that when I

was drunk?” She asked slightly closing her eyes in embarrassment.

“No”

“Huh?”

He took a sip of coffee and used the napkin to wipe the edges of his

lips. He then turned to her with a smile and said, “I was a huge fan. My

father and I watched every one of your tournaments. We even travelled

to watch you compete during the winter Olympics.”

“Oh …. Ok, thanks… I guess.”

“Don’t worry, wont pester you for an autograph I promise?”

His words immediately lightened up the mood and they both laughed.
