***COMPLETE***Halie used to take life as face value. That is until she fell down her rabbit hole and is saved by a man who claims to be her mate.Sounds normal enough.Only he isn't even human, but the Beta of a wolf Pack. Without giving her a fighting chance to prove herself, he rejects her, placing her on a pedestal for other wolves to claim. When an Alpha from another pack sees her worth, all hell breaks loose as Rider fights to keep his rejected mate to himself. What will happen when both wolves decide to claim her as theirs, while having the looming destruction of hunters on their heels? And how will Halie navigate moving from being an average human to being a Luna breeder? Because the title isn't as prestigious as it's made out to be.

Loved the book, nice story with a lot of twists involved. Hoping there will be a second book. Only negative was the lack of editing, so there was a few typos etc throughout

The Myths
Cascade Falls was where my best friend, that was busy searching her over run closet for a flashlight grew up, and our current place of residence for the next eight weeks. Current because this was NOT where I pictured spending the two best months, aka free days of summer three months ago. I had pictured a beach somewhere, hiding the sun, maybe skinny dipping, being harassed by some guy before turning him down -again. Instead, I got a mock up of what would be considered abandoned Texas only it has trees, people didn't hail each other with "howdy folks" or wore hats and cow boy boots, wheeling guns. But in my opinion maybe if they had, it'd have made this town plenty interesting. I sighed again. So much for a great summer! My body flipped back into the queen size bed with a thud, the mattress hugging my body with so much softnesss, I swore I fell in a cotton candy cloud. "Yes!" Shouted Moi waving the poor flashlight in her hand triumphantly. I instantly felt sad. I had hoped she would

Desperate
The mutt-wolf-thing stared at me slobbering, water draining from his mouth like a water fall. Ewww! Why the hell was his mouth watering like that! Halie, focus! I reminded myself. It stared, his eyes still connected with mine tracking my every move. With every breath I took, I inched away, I couldn't be eaten tonight. I'd just gotten to Cascade Falls two day now, I wasn't that weak to not survive a dumb story. Pft, how the hell did I know that whatever it was, was actually real? Could be a disgusting guy in costume. Just saying, this world was filled with creeps with weird habits. My hand reached back, crunching a leaf behind me, causing the slobbering beast to charge forward, so close I thought there was no way he'd be able to brake in time before not slamming into me. Within those few minutes I saw my own death announcement headline. Girl found dead, squashed against a tree, perpetrator still at large. My eyes tightened close, bracing for the impending impact as I heard skidding

The music down stairs blasted, our bed shaking vigorously as if we were in the middle of an earthquake. Moi laid against the bed, pillows covering her head to keep the noise out. Her brother actually kept the party. It wasn't a surprise, but I knew she'd get pulled into his punishment. If anything Lorenzo never accepted being wrong. "Okay, that's it!" I exclaimed jumping from the bed fed up with the noise. Moi's blue head peaked from below the pillows. "Where you going?" "Downstairs to give that prick of your brother a piece of my mind!" I replied stomping towards the door. "He's absolutely inconsiderate. " "Wait, Halie, no! " I waved her off moving through the door into the sea of jirating young adults that were too busy partying the night away. Bodies moved seductively as I dug my feet into the ground desperate to get through the crowd and find the asshole. The kitchen was less packed but after glancing around a few times, I knew he wasn't there either. I rolled my eyes thinkin

Not safe, not safe!
Like a kid caught with her hand in the cookie jar, I thought of doing the one thing we all do. Deny everything. Only my bestfriend was much smarter than I gave her credit for and well, she'd never drop the subject after this. So in lieu of denying everything, I did the next best thing. I took her along. I mean, if I'm embarking on a probably one way trip to the grim reapers personal backyard, why not have company. No one wants to die alone. "Why are we going through the forest again?" Asked Moi for what was the millionth time since we left the house. Leaves crunched beneath my feet, at every step, though I wondered where they came from since most of the trees this low barely had leaves. Each an even more horrid version of a scarecrow. Going further the forest took on another form. Everything that wasn't tall and luscious was broad and bulky. As if the bare trees lining the outskirts were there to dissuade people from ever entering. "I can't believe I'm actually out here right now

The itch
The night sky was enveloped in darkness, only moments ago the blood moon shone in all its glory. The memoir that nights were not always the same. This was the last we'll have of it until the next couple of months. I led the pawful of wolves down the slope keeping in the shadows, moving steadily towards where we had heard piercing screams only moments ago. We had to be vigilant. The hunters were here, and though we were curious as to what caused the scream, safety came first. My body tensed once more, an annoying feeling that had been bothering me for days on end. My skin prickled under all the fur and my groans came out in low growls. I stopped placing my nose against the wind and sniffed, a low snarl rumbling through my body picking up the scent of a hunter just meters ahead. The others had become restless too finally picking up the scent as I had. We ran ahead quietly, the forest now a crypt of silence, as higher predators roamed, namely us. Owls stood on high branches nestled in

Or not?
The pack, well most of them women, pups and men had gathered outside the door of the infirmary taking in the sights of a human girl, unconscious, just like the previous. The crowd split in equal parts upon my approach, no one daring, except Allison ofcourse who was used to my menacing aura, followed. Her steps were quick, filled with the anticipation of her fellow members outside. It wasn't as if we've never seen humans before, well, most of us that is. Once you were part of patrol or a leader, that was an incidence that couldn't be avoided. Though for the last hundred years or so, the only humans we've come across ever so often were the Hunter clan. Humans who had migrated to Cascade falls and thought themselves to be the owners of this land. They invaded our home, demolished bonds we had and even more, went ahead to destroy our environment. Now Silver moon, my pack is the only pack that still resides in the forest closer to where humans live. We act as sentinels, alarms for other su

Introductions
I watch impatiently as the woman works, patching up my arms as if by some miracle or not, they'll fall off. I swear it's like they've never had scratches or bruises before. And if that wasn't the worst, who the hell sets up a hospital in the middle of nowhere? With the scary guy gone and the pregnant woman, we're left alone. She questions me, but I don't even cast her a glance. Too preoccupied with my thoughts of finding my bestfriend and also because I'm not interested. She's the reason why I'm still here, her and that arrogant bastard of a man. And where did he get off ordering me like that? I mean, that just plain rude! And I normally don't even listen to anyone. Just ask Moi, I'm my own boss. But then again I did calm down and I did stay. Weird, but that's just a fluke. There's no way I'm staying here. I had to find Moi, and we had to get home before Lorenzo figured out we were MIA or he'll definitely blow a gasket. And Moi would have my head, which is a whole disaster all in

Blame Game
The moment I heard my name, all else faded into the background. Well Rider faded into the background. I bolted from my position, tugging the door open, running over to my bestfriend. I fell atop her person, squeezing her body beneath my weight. Oh my god she's alive! "Moi!" I screamed into her ear. "You're awake. I'm so happy!" "How are you doing? Are you okay, hurting? You're alive!" I kept ranting into the ridiculously small space between our bodies, much too relieved to know she was conscious; yet too excited to just shut the hell up! My word vomit only paused hearing a muffled voice beneath my body as I squashed my bestfriend. The moment I let up, Moi took a deep breath blinking at me. "You're alive!" I murmured again almost teary eyed. "Barely, " She grumbled back. "You're crushing me here. " But I refused to let up hugging her close. In the future I'll remember to tell her never to mention this scenario to anyone. There's no way I'm letting people know about how weak I am r

Needing to breathe
RIDER When I turn away from Halie, I rush to my cabin, heading for the shower. The spray of the water is harsh, a welcome glacier against the furnace of my body. I'm not myself today. I'm leering and I hate it. I have to get my thoughts together and to do that I need to take a breather. Take a step away from everything including my newly-yet clueless mate and analyse things. I finish, grabbing a black shirt with matching shorts. It's not my favorite, practically it doesn't need to be, in a few they'll be ruined anyway. Oh shit, I realized, I haven't even gotten time to eat breakfast. With all the back and forth between Halie and I, it didn't even register that I was hungry. The front door swings open, Allison storming in but my eyes are glued to what's in her hands. In a few quick steps, I've swiped everything, including the cup of coffee, settling on the stool in the kitchen. "You're welcome Rider, " She says sarcastically taking a seat, her hands slowly stroking her enlarge stom

No one leaves
Qinn's heavy breathing lapped at my hind legs as we pushed forward, the forest quiet, only interrupted by the flash of lightening every now and again. Tonight was going to be completely horrible, I could feel it. The way my body tingled, and my fur stood on ends. For a moment the thought crosses of whether my mate was okay, it's annoying to think that she'd use the opportunity to try and escape in the midst of all this choas. A part of me wished I had stayed and watched over her. Then I berated myself for ever thinking like that. I was Beta. Our Alpha wasn't home. It was my duty to protect our pack at all cost. Mate or no mate. I could see our wolves holding the perimeter line leading to the first tier of the pack. I howled alerting them of our arrival but leaped over the fencing without stopping. 'Where are they?' 'A hundred yards out Beta, ''Quinn?''I got it.'The rain started amplifying to the ominous atmosphere around us, the smell of dried blood and dirt mixing in the air. W
