Chapter 9 High and Mighty

The looks of the faces of the Xies turned dark upon hearing Madam Hua.

There wasn't any point in speaking ill of each other at this point; both families were already in an awkward situation.

The Huas left the hotel in anger and indignation.

"Dongze," the patron of the Xies said coldly.

"Dad."

"I don't care what method you use, but I want that beast brought back to me—dead or alive."

He flicked his sleeves and left swiftly.

An hour later...

In the Presidential Suite of a seven-star hotel...

Xie Dongyang, the Second Young Master of the Xie Family, could be seen dressing shakily and emerging from the room.

The female celebrity, on the other hand, was long gone. Perhaps she was afraid of the media scrum blocking the door of the suite that was sure to come.

"You're in big trouble now, Dongyang."

Xie Dongze looked at his younger brother worriedly.

The Xies had two sons and a daughter. The eldest son, Xie Dongze, was extremely obedient and was currently serving as the Vice-Chairman of the family business. He had been learning the tools of the trade from his father for a while now.

His wife was his college classmate and was Canadian-Chinese. After their marriage, they returned back to Xie Dongze's homeland to stay for good, and they already had a daughter together.

As for the younger son, Xie Dongyang... Well, he had been a cause of concern for the family ever since he was young. He was the perfect example of a hedonistic child of super-rich parents.

He became infamous during his school years and was rumored to have solicited a female teacher. Basically, he was known to be a vile person full of vices.

Xie Yun had wanted him to marry, so that he could settle down and start to lead a proper life. Little did he expect that his son would cause such great trouble.

He was much more cunning than anyone else. Who else could have come up with a more convincing honey trap?

Basically, he was extremely unhappy at having to enter an arranged marriage and had purposely planned the entire debacle.

Besides the fact that both the Xie and Hua families had been humiliated, the Jiangs had also gotten involved. Things were really heating up now.

Xie Dongyang sneered at his elder brother. "Bro, it's not the first day you've known me. Since when has the trouble I've caused been small?"

"How dare you say that... Wait till you see what Dad has planned for you. Look at you... Why did you screw up a perfectly fine wedding? You left the Fifth Young Mistress of the Hua family all alone on stage and completely humiliated her. A perfectly fine woman has just had her reputation destroyed because of you."

"Huh? Don't be so quick to judge, Big Brother. I've watched the news too, all right? That woman is no damsel in distress. I heard that she immediately looked for a replacement bridegroom to preserve her dignity, and she picked Jiang Liu, the best of the lot. Aren't I right?"

"How could you... Wasn't the entire incident your fault?" Xie Dongze replied, at a loss for words. "If you hadn't caused all that trouble, you good-for-nothing, would Jiang Liu have been involved at all?" he thought.

In fact, the Xies were still unaware of what had transpired between the Fifth Young Mistress of the Hua Family and Jiang Liu after the wedding ceremony.

After all, they made their deal in private, and it had not been officially announced to the public.

When it was, however, everyone was going to be shocked.

"He should thank me for that... I'm amazed, however. Jiang Liu kissed and made vows with my bride in front of so many people... I'd like to see how he deals with the fallout, haha..."

Xie Dongyang never saw eye to eye with Jiang Liu for a very simple reason.

This was because his parents kept praising Jiang Liu in his presence, detailing his exploits to their son—it gave him an inferiority complex.

Now that he received news that Jiang Liu had to clean up his mess, Xie Dongyang was extremely eager to know what was going to happen next, rejoicing a little at his opponent's misfortune.

"Hasn't Jiang Liu always been high and mighty? I'd like to see how he can maintain that persona this time," he added before his brother could reply.
