She heard Damon give a loud curse right before a snap sounded behind them.
"What the hell?!" Damon cursed, stepping in front of Kara as he looked around the jungle, searching for the threat, "Have you seen anyone else come here, Kara."
"I told you to wait for me, didn't I?" Kara flipped around as James voice rung around the empty jungle from behind her.
She found him standing with his arms crossed over his chest, his jaw clenched tightly as his glare pinned Kara in her spot in shock while her heart thudded hard in fear. His anger was as apparent as a bright, shining day.
"What are you doing here?!" Damon exclaimed, staring at James in shock.
"None of your god damn business!" James did not spare a glance in Damon's direction. His eyes glaring at Kara, "Get out of here." James snapped at Damon.
"Why should I?" Damon asked arrogantly, "You get out of here. No one invited you anyway."
"Actually," James' gaze swung to me, "She did!"
"I and Kara come here-" Damon started to say but Kara cut him off midway,
"Damon, please don't fight." she murmured. Her head felt like it was about to explode because of irritation and fear. She could not believe that James had decided to follow her here. She knew that this was not her fault and she had done her best to wait for him as long as she could and he was the one who had decided to not fulfill it like an self centered person but still the look in his eyes was not something that she liked for herself.
Damon turned to her and said softly, "Kara, please do not support him right now."
"I am not supporting him!" Kara insisted, inching closer to him and putting her hand on his tight fisted ones, "I just don't want you both to fight today."
She had barely managed to get the words out of her mouth when James grabbed her wrist in a tight grip and started dragging her towards the church.
"Tell him to get out of here." James snapped.
Kara turned and saw Damon already walking to the driver seat to get inside the car.
"I will see you at home!" she shouted.
"Fucking hell!" Kara heard James curse as he snatched her forward while sliding his hand in her waist and hurrying to get inside the church.
They had barely crossed the threshold of the main door of the broken church when he pushed her forward to pin her against the old, dusty wall, his hand was still gripping her wrist very tightly, making sharp pain to shoot in her whole arm.
"You forgot what I had told you in the morning, Kara?" James gritted through clenched teeth in anger, "I had told you that I will bring you here! Why did not you wait for me?!"
With each word that came out of his lips, his anger increased and his hold on her wrist tightened to unbearable level,
"James, you ar-" Kara whispered but James cut her in the middle,
"I told you that I will come to bring you here. Why don't you ever listen to me?! If you wanted to come here with Damon, why even bother with me, huh?"
"James, my wrist!" Kara cried out in pain. His hold had tightened so much that she was sure her bones were going to break.
~~~Past~~~
Kara's struggles stopped but she did not raise her eyes to look at James. Her aloofness always irked him because most of the time she was intent on staying as close to him as possible even when he pushed her away.
"Move!" Kara mumbled.
He did not. He was blocking the doorway and she knew that there was no way in hell he was going to let her go until they talked.
"Tell me why you came here." James repeated.
Kara hesitated for a second but then decided to answer him to get out of the room as soon as possible, "I know why you pushed me down the wall." she mumbled, "I saw the snake beside us."
James eyes widened in shock. He had not realized that she had seen it. He did not want to freak her out, that is why he had pushed her down the wall when she did not jump. The snake was quickly slithering towards them. He had tried to tell this to his parents too, but they had just accused him and shouted at him instead of listening to his reason.
"I came here to tell you that I was not angry with you. But you..." Kara's accusing gaze shot to James, "you pushed me so hard. My leg hurts."
James looked at her with a guilty look in his eyes. He was apologetic for his behavior. His anger always wrenched out the worst behavior from him but he never hurt anybody. And Kara was the least person that he wanted to hurt. But this time his anger had brought out the worst of him when he saw Kara standing outside of his room.
"Sorry."James muttered while taking a step forward in her direction.
"Sorry for what?" Kara mumbled but did not look at his face, ignoring him completely.
She could see his feet in front of her eyes as he came to stand just a feet away from her.
She felt his hand lift up. His hand came up to grab her chin gently and lift it up to stare into his eyes as he replied,
"Sorry for pushing you down the wall and sorry for pushing you down when you were out of the room as well."
James eyes held sincerity and gentleness. This one look, this one stare that James always gave Kara was enough for her to go soft on him.
But then he bent down his head and softly kissed her cheek, and that was the moment when her heart raced a bit faster in his presence for the first time.
James' anger was out of his control. He tried to keep it down but the things that were roaming inside his head were vengeful and disgusting. All he wanted in those moments was the assurance that Kara was understanding why he was so angry, that she knew what she had done wrong.He had gotten busy with work. But at the same time he wanted to make this birthday special for Kara since this was going to be the last time he is at home for her birthday.He dragged her inside the dusty church, brought her forward harshly before letting her wrist go.
There are times in a person's life when they feel the most happy. This was the moment that Kara had been waiting for her whole life. Since the moment she had come to know what attraction meant, what interest and desire and love meant, there had been just one person, one man in front of her eyes and that had always been James. She never thought that she would ever want someone as she wanted James. She never dated anyone, never tried to even attempt getting into a relationship because she always knew to whom she belonged. There had never been any doubt in her head.And as James lips moved over hers, his lips sliding against her soft ones, his fingers slipping from her waist to her breasts, squeezing the softness and then pressing the mounds, earning a low moan from her mouth right before her hands slipped into the back of his head, caressing and pulling at his unruly hair, this was the end for her. The feeling was like e
There were times when James felt insecure seeing Kara with anyone else than him. Sharing her was never he enjoyed, be it was with her girl friends or with her family. He wanted her to be with him all the time, need him like he needed her, the desperate need he felt was unquenchable and he wanted her to feel the same. Kara showed that she wanted him, but he always wondered if she craved him just as desperately as he craved her?James mouth had started to descend down on Kara's when Kara's phone started ringing loudly. James' face dropped in Kara's throat in exasperation as a small giggle left her lips.
3 Years laterKara climbed out of the car while adjusting the dress she was wearing. Everything was the same as when she had left the place. Just as pretty as it was back then. The peach petals greeted her way when she slowly lifted her gaze to stare at the empty, hollow house. It did not look like home anymore. Even though it looked just the same as it did three years ago, the warmth that she had in her heart for this place had melted away.
As soon as their eyes met, shock covered his face, and Kara stumbled back on her step. She was not ready to see him. Not now, not ever. There had been feeling inside her heart that she was not ready to face yet and seeing him so suddenly just made them worse.So the next thing she did was turn around, find the nearest door, and walk out of the house. Her head was bursting with the thoughts of what she was supposed to say or do but there was no answer. She found herself in the backyard of the grand house that was covered with trees.
James stood frozen at the door step. He had heard the words his mother had said. His heart almost stopped, his fist clenching tight.He was never told that there was going to be an engagement, leave alone the engagement of his brother and Kara! And then he suddenly realized, it was just the same as all those years of childhood. Everyone had declared him the evil of the house without understanding the reason for his behavior.
A small smile slipped up on Kara's lips as her hand covered Damon's. After the chaos that had covered her heart when she had been in James's room, Damon's touch just brought a feeling of calm to her. It did not make her heart pound like James's touch did, but then it did not bring any pain either."I am happy that you are finally back for good." Damon bent his head down and left a small kiss on the bare skin on the corner of her neck.During the past years they had grown a lot more closer than they had ever been in the past. He had started caring for her more, seeing his future in her. They had never crossed the line of closeness begween their bodies, but they had grown closer emotionally. In the past three years, he had flown to meet her without telling anyone in the family whenever he could get a chance. At first it was just to check up on her and see if she was okay, but then later it had turned into a strange craving that could not get f
As the clock struck three am and James laid down in his bed, his arm covering his eyes to try and block every little thing that had parted him from Kara three years ago. It was like a faint dream that came and went away, but that was the only thing that had kept him from going near her when she had needed him the most.The whole family had been devasted when the accident had happened. Each one of them were buried in grief, everyone trying to cope with the sadness as much as they could on their own or with the support of someone else.But then after bringing Kara back to the hospital, James' father had immediately sent him to clear up the business that Kara's parents had left behind. It would not have taken the company even a day to turn the tables around and give the whole business to someone else, so they needed to take action before the other investors could intervene.His father had to be at home for the family, and Damon had never learned anythin
