∆ Margot's p.o.v ∆

It would be no surprise if I told you we missed the 09:30 a.m train. What is surprising is the way we missed it. For once it was not our decision; well not entirely.

I was abnormally getting lost in Adalyn's blue ocean eyes which were the polar opposite of mine; mine were a regular dark brown but she seemed to like them a lot since she complimented them at any given chance. The way she describes them resembles a description from a book.

She described them as darting back and fourth, shining in the sunlight. They were a deep, earthy brown - the color of the earth after torrential rains. But there was something else in them, something glistening. Glistening like an old copper penny being examined in the warmth next to powerful flames that were licking the safety glass door of an old fireplace.

Her inspiration most probably comes from her wide knowledge and desire of  reading every second of her life. The summum of a book worm if you want my opinion. The behaviour of her 'lovely' husband stops her from learning more and more. He told her multiple times that reading was useless and therefore prohibited.

To my surprise Adalyn refuses to divorce. The reason itself is far from clear. Perhaps the fear of being in danger; Her jerk of a husband always insists on the fact that a divorce is not possible in any way. The worst could happen and this would be the last decision.

Jerry abused Adalyn mentally and it is equally as worst as physically. The circumstances nonetheless can be taken into consideration but she is not willing to draw attention towards her.

I've spend this whole time trying to convince her to do something about it but she keeps denying it and avoiding the not so taboo subject in my perception but I don't know her life and can't be the judge of a situation i've never experienced.

"You know that you can't tell me otherwise right?" She said smiling

"But I'll still try!" I retorted

"And anyways, our trains are arriving so it will be a loss Margot." She said in a sarcastic voice

I looked at her while biting my bottom lip to try and find a solution when I am quickly snapped out of my thoughts from the speakers announcing my early victory.

"𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙛 9:30 𝙖.𝙢 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖 𝙨𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙩 10:00 𝙖.𝙢 𝙙𝙪𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚𝙨. 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 "

I listened to the sound of the speakers echoing through the station as a wide smile nearly reaching my eyes forms on my already excited face.

"Oh how the tables have turned!" I said as I looked at Adalyn's face of shock.

It took her a good two minutes to process the news. She may have the brain of a genius but shocking news are her weak spot. She was visibly gulping and sighed before turning in my direction now completely facing me.

"You may have won a battle but not the war."

"Whatever you say!" I said slightly bowing my head

She playfully rolled her eyes and mumbled incomprehensible phrases but she was quick to regain her famous natural smile. I glanced at her and prepared myself for whatever she had to argue about but she surprisingly remained silent as her smile was still plastered on her face.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion but I quickly proposed to get something to eat since I was starving.

"It is going to be a long ride." Adalyn sighed.

I giggled at her remark and off to get some deliciousness we were.

"So what are your ethnicities?" I surprisingly asked

"Gosh Margot you really need to learn to be more serene and collected!"

"Okay fine!" I said smiling

"To answer your question, I am half german half greek. What about you?"

"Oh I would have never guessed... Well I am Russian but moved to Seattle when I was only three."

We spent the whole time chatting about how we grew up, where and all the perks and issues. Adalyn was not sensitive about the subject compared to me. I should have thought about that before asking her the question.

Growing up as the only Russian family in my region was not the easiest. I've had issues complying to talk proper english due to the lack of communicating in any other language other than Russian.

Adalyn on the other side spoke three languages at a young age and had little to no trouble learning new ones during her academic years. She is astounding in every aspects; academically, physically and even mentally.

I dropped out of school at the young age of 16 to pursue my passion, that is; art. I never passed with flying colours much of my subjects apart from art. I've been gaining money with my canvas and doing what I like is my main goal. My parents expectations of me becoming a lawyer, doctor or the least would be to work in the business field were quickly shut down when I announced my hobby for art.

Skeptical would be the perfect definition of their reaction but they were supportive no matter what which surprised me nonetheless.

Back to me trying to help Adalyn with her engagement was truly a misadventure. It seemed that the informations I was providing to her came in one ear and out the other. She could be silent but her calmness was sometimes worst than a meaningless answer.

I was not about to give up at any moment. I did not want to interfere in her personal life but I would help her no matter the circumstances. Trust me when I say she is a different person on the inside. She may seem shy but the more I get to know her; the more I realize she has different aspects and somehow more and more to discover.

I was way too deep and intrigued to let it all go so I persisted more than ever without obviously being too pushy and let's just say that I did a pretty good job.
