CHAPTER XLVIII

Lyka

Everything happens in slow motion. From the time Gabriel shields me to the time Helena's evil power hits him like a bullet casting him to the side. I can't believe whatever is happening at the moment when I gaze at Gabriel's body on the floor to Helena's amused face. Coming to my senses I run to his limp body which lays lifeless on the ground. His heart is not beating. He is not opening his eyes even when I shout at him to open his eyes.

I am surrounded by a hound of wolves lunging at each other and tearing each other into pieces when I try to yell for some help. That is how it hits me that it is the full moon and I am amidst a war. I am the only human still standing. Gabriel however lies on the ground oblivious of whatever is happening.
