The king let out a low laugh as he looked toward the books I had spent most of my time reading, before he looked at me. Chapter 11_______THIRD PERSONIt was late in the night when Mariah felt someone touching her face. She moved slightly causing them to stop for second before they continued to stroke her hair. She heard the person sigh before standing up, not before leaving a soft kiss in her forehead.Just by the feeling the kiss gave her alone she knew it was the King. Chapter 12_________THIRD PERSONWhen she woke up the next morning she was sad to see nothing but sheets beside her, and they were cold. Mariah tried not to be too disappointed as she stood up from the bed and looked around. She knew after one glance around the room that he wasn't in it.Had yesterday meant nothing to him?Mariah suddenly felt stupid for ever assuming they could ever be more. Chapter 14_______MARIAHMy heart was pounding with excitement as I got out of the warm bath to see a towel for me along with one of the King's shirts laid on the bed. He wanted me to stay in his chambers for the night and that was enough to excite me.
