Chapter 3

I stayed up late that night because I have so many readings in Philippine History. I also have three papers to make for my communication subject and I still have to answer queries from the dean's office about our upcoming acquaintance.

"Felice, you're not asleep yet?" I turned around and saw mommy and daddy who just went in.

I smiled and stood.

"Good evening, mom, dad," I greeted and kissed them both on the cheeks.

"Why are you still up? It's getting late already," mommy said. I just sighed and shrugged.

"I still have a lot of things to do, mom. Don't worry I'll sleep before 12," I assured her. She stared at me for a bit, but eventually nodded her head.

"Okay, we'll go upstairs already, okay? Go to bed after."

"Yes, mom."

I heaved a sigh and went back to my chair. I could do these in my room, but that will just make me sleepy. My bed is just so tempting and I cannot risk that because these papers are already due tomorrow. Plus we will have an oral recitation for Philippine History so I really need to prepare. I've had a lot of embarrassing moments with Sir Greg already. I don't want to add anything more.

I quickly shook my head when the memories of our meeting earlier suddenly played. My gosh! I don't want to remember it already! I just don't really know why I behave so unwell whenever sir is around. Argh. This is just frustrating.

I breathe in deeply and closed my eyes for a bit. I inhaled and exhaled to calm my nerves. When I was done, I resume to typing my write ups for communication.

I was multi-tasking because while I was writing write ups, I was also answering our dean through email.

I set aside the second printed write up. I stretched for a bit before starting my third. I was in the middle of typing the third write up when a notification on my phone popped up. It wasn't on silent mode so it made a sound. I was about to ignore it, but the name got my attention.

I stopped typing. My forehead creased as I got my phone from the table. Another notification came and then another one.

Gregory Landon Olivares wants to be your friend

I stares at it for a moment before I finally opened each one of them. I checked the pictures and it was indeed Sir Greg! What the heck. Why is he following and adding me in all of my social media accounts?!

I was hesitating on accepting him on Facebook, but then when I looked at our mutual friends, I saw that he's almost friends with all my block mates already.

I bit my lower lip. Yeah right. I guess he added and followed us all? Gosh. What was I even thinking!

I immediately shook my head and accepted his request. I put down my phone and went back to typing my write up. I emailed the acquaintance outline and plan to our dean before I exited Gmail. When I was done with my write up, I immediately printed and set it aside. I turned off my laptop and arranged my things for tomorrow.

I placed all my write ups in one transparent folders and put them all in my bag. I panic easily whenever my things are messed up so I make sure that all of them are arranged.

When I was done with arranging, I got my readings and place them on the table. I quickly went to the kitchen first and got some crackers. I placed the crackers on the table and sat again. I wore my reading glasses and finally started reading.

I was in that state when my phone vibrated. I took a sneak peek and my forehead automatically creased upon reading the notification.

Gregory Landon Olivares added you to the group Philippine History Block 2- B

My mouth formed o. So that was the purpose of the friend request, I guess. I shrugged and sighed. I went back to reading again.

I was half through the first reading when my phone vibrated again. It was a notification from the group that sir made.

Gregory Landon Olivares:

Please add these readings. This will be after the oral recitation tomorrow.

I almost groaned in frustration upon seeing the post. Why didn't he gave this beforehand?! Argh!

I rolled my eyes and was forced to open my laptop again. I locked my phone. I signed in my facebook account on the laptop and got the pdf files. I printed all of them and I almost cry when I saw how long it was.

What the! I haven't even finished the first ones that he gave!

Gosh, I really hate this subject!

I groaned again and was about to log out my Facebook when Sir Greg's name popped up in the chatbox. I was shocked for a second. Then I felt that abnormal beating of my heart again.

Why was he messaging me?

I swallowed the lump in throat as I guided the mouse to click on his name.

Gregory Landon Olivares:

Good evening, Felice. I saw your essay last meeting. Wow. It is superb. I thought you dislike the subject? How can you write such beautiful piece?

Hahaha

Kidding aside, the essay is really great, Miss Lemuel. Good job. I really hope you will like the subject eventually.

I stared at his message for a second. I bit my lip and re-read it again. I was contemplating whether to reply or not, but I just find it a bit rude to just leave him on seen. I heaved a sigh and typed a reply.

Felice Lemuel:

Thank you, sir. I really hope so, too.

I clicked send. I didn't know why, but I found myself waiting for his reply. I was just staring at the screen and I almost jumped from my seat when I got another message from him.

Gregory Landon Olivares:

You're welcome, Felice.

I presses my lips together and stared at his reply. For some reason I feel something odd in my chest again.

Oh my god. What is really happening with me?
