Chapter 19

The water pounded the shower floor around Thea as she stood under the spray, her head pressed against the cold tiles. It had long since turned cold but, she didn’t mind, she barely even noticed. Her jaw clenched and lips blue, a shiver racked through her body though, it wasn’t because of the icy entrails of water that ran down her body.

Pounding her fist against the wall, she shook her head trying to rid herself of the images of Bellamy’s lifeless body at the foot of the bed. When she blinked the images of Bellamy away, the memories of Lucius resurfaced, first as a young and frightened boy, then through his short life with Thea, right up until the memory of his still and unmoving body at her feet on the stone floor of their cottage. She blinked again
