The masked man

"What do you mean by I can't book a first-class ticket?" A lady shouted in the airport lobby. All those waiting in line and passing by stared at her.

"I am sorry, Miss. A very important person book first-class." The ticket agent answered casually, making sure that others could not understand her statement except for the lady.

"How can a single person book the entire first class?" The lady asked curiously.

The ticket agent seems uncomfortable by her question, she looks afraid, as though their conversation would get them in serious trouble.

" From what I heard, he is not someone to aggravate, so I advise you to book a second-class ticket or take the next plane. Also, I am afraid that if I discuss this matter any further, I may lose my job. Plus, my clearance doesn't qualify me to assist with such information." The ticket agent stated.

The lady became more curious as to who this influential person could be, so she booked herself a second-class ticket on the same plane.

"Gabriel, don't you think it's suspicious for you and me to occupy the entire first-class wing?" His butler asked.

Gabriel looks through the plane window and stares at the blue sky. "Bob, you know that my identity needs to remain a secret for now. I don't want to alarm my enemies. Also, I hate being surrounded by filth." He responded.

Bob stared at the empty seat and replied, "I understand, Sir."

Bob had been working with the Balkan family before Gabriel was born and every time he watched how grown his young master is now, plus all that he has accomplished as a young man, Bob can not help but feel proud.

After hours of flight, the plane finally landed. Passengers that boarded were leaving the plane one after another until almost every seat became empty. Only three seats remain occupied with people, two in the private section, and one in the second-class sector. After thirty minutes had passed, the flight attendant summoned Bob out of first-class and informed him they had the landing strip evacuated. The bodyguards remained stationed at their various locations, and it was safe for his young master to come out.

Bob notified Gabriel after his conversation with the flight attendant. Gabriel stood up from his seat and strolled out with his hand in his pocket. As he reached the entrance of the plane, the strong wind blew, fluttering Gabriel's blazer behind him.

Nature portrays itself elegantly in the presence of Gabriel's sights. The sun's golden light radiates in every direction, and the trees wave their branches, releasing fresh air to reduce the heat from the atmosphere. Gabriel's bodyguards try their hardest not to stare into his eyes as he walks past them. Although he had his scent hidden and no one could identify which species he's from, still they knew he was not a man to provoke.

"Excuse me!" A lady yelled from behind Gabriel.

Bob could sense terror flowing down his spine when he heard her voice. Gabriel stopped, and she raced toward him. When the lady caught up with him and noticed his appearance, her heart began to pound faster. Standing before her was the most attractive man she has ever set her eyes on in this lifetime.

His red eyes show dominance, and his hair white as snow captures the light of the day-star. The lady gazes at his astounding physique, long legs, firm body, and pure rosy lips.

After a short while, the lady recovers from her lust. She was about to speak when Bob interrupted her. "Sir, I am sorry. Allow me to handle this situation." He pleaded.

However, Gabriel did not respond. He stares at the lady in the eye, and an icy smile surfaces on his face.

"I don't have all day to deal with this beta, so I command you to forget this entire day. You will try to retrieve the petty things like what you had for breakfast and who you chatted with, but the whole day will be nothing but blank space in your mind. You may go insane as you strive to figure out why your day is empty. However, that's not my concern." Gabriel ordered.

He had tears in his eyes when he withdrew his sights away from her.

"Sir, I apologize regarding this incident. I assumed I had arranged enough bodyguards to secure the entrance and the hall who knew she had been hiding in the plane all this time. The CEO of the airline extended his apology. He said she was the passenger this morning who argued with the ticket agent when she could not get a first-class ticket. The CEO additionally said that the ticket agent got fired, and the airline will take care of the lady." Bob said as he walked faster behind Gabriel to catch up with him.

"It's okay, Bob. Just don't allow it to happen again. Is my ride here?" Gabriel stated.

Bob felt as though what happened was his fault. He should have double-checked to see if someone was stalking them. If he had been on his guard, Gabriel would not have used his power and had to experience that awful memory again.

"Yes, Sir. The cars remain placed in the parking lot," Bob replied.

"That's good, then," Gabriel responded without making eye contact with Bob when he caught up to him.

Selena finally shakes Joe off her tail after he has followed her scent out of the house into the street. She hides in a pile of rubbish in the alley, making it tricky for Joe to detect her scent because of the trash. He later gives up his search and returns to the compound. Selena was so focused on getting rid of Joe that she did not notice there was someone within the crowd secretly following her.

Gabriel got into the back seat of the black limousine with Joe and the driver. The vehicle drove away from the airport parking lot.

"Bob, how long will it take to get to the mansion?" He asked while looking at his watch.

"Sir, I don't know. But we will reach in time for the party." Bob assured him and signaled the driver through the V-mirror to drive quicker.

"I can believe that the old alpha had it in him to track me here. I am sorry, Joe. I know my mother told you to watch over me. But this is personal, and it's something I have to do for me to have my revenge." Selena said after she got out of the recycling bin and was approaching the main road.

"Beep..." A man wearing a black cap and dark clothes phone rang.

He answers his phone, and a sharp voice screams through his cell. "Is the job accomplished yet?"

He temporarily retreated the phone from his ear, then placed it back after a few seconds.

"I have not had the chance to finish the job. The girl had a powerful alpha following her, and I had to maintain my distance before he senses my presence." He replied, observing his surroundings and making sure he had his sights on his target.

"Excuses, excuses... I don't care what you have to do. I am paying you to get the job done soon!"

The call ended, and he placed his phone in his pocket.

"Bob, why did we stop?" Gabriel asked as he woke up from his nap because the driver suddenly pressed on the brake.

"Sir, the light turns red, we have to wait for it to turn green again," Bob reported to him.

Selena tried walking faster because she needed to cross the street. Plus, everyone kept mockingly staring at her, some were laughing while others kept whispering and pointing their finger at her. She did not know if it was regarding the garbage odor or because she was a rejected omega.

Their whispers and laughter grew loud in her head. Selena could not breathe. Furthermore, she started experiencing a panic attack at that moment. Selena could feel her lips trembling and her heart racing. Tears began to roll down her eyes, yet the judgment from the crowd did not stop. The light turned green, and Selena felt cold hands on her back, pushing her toward a moving vehicle.

"Oh my, someone just got hit by a car!" A lady screamed.

"She is bleeding from the head." Another fellow yelled.

The street grew noisy with distinct cries of various people that had watched the accident.

"The driver who hit her has escaped." Someone announced.

"Bob, what is going on out there?" Gabriel asked when he noticed the light was green, yet their car was not moving.

"Sir, I'm not sure. However, it seemed to be an accident. I will check it out, sir." He answered.

Joe was about to step out of the car when he got stopped.

"Wait! What is that smell?" Gabriel asked him.

Bob seemed confused. He did not know what his young master was asking about, so Bob sniffed the air to find clues.

"I smell the scent of betas, base alphas, omegas, garbage, and a female rejected omega." He replied.

Gabriel shook his head in disagreement, knowing that there was more to what his butler had stated.

"No, that's not all. There is another original alpha here. Its scent is not strong, but I can make it out." Gabriel replied.

He hurriedly left his car and approached the group wearing a black mask with his butler right behind him.

When Gabriel arrived at the scene, his bodyguards rushed to clear a pathway for him through the crowd. Many people grew offended by how rudely they got forced onto the sidewalk. Gabriel could hear their thoughts and words. Some called him "rude," while others said he was a "red-eyed demon." But it was a particular conversation that seized his attention. Near the alley, a guy was on a call with someone.

"I fulfilled the job. I made certain that it occurred as an accident." He said.

"That's good. I will wire your balance to you after I confirm her death." The caller on the other side of the line said.

"I need you to arrest the man in the alley and bring him in for questioning. Also, trace the driver that costs this mess and make sure he doesn't drive again." Gabriel whispered into Bob's ear.

Bob followed his young master's order and took a few bodyguards into the alley.

"What's special about you that makes me feel the need to assist you. I don't know who that original alpha was because its scent has disappeared. Is it you?" Gabriel mumbled after he had squatted next to Selena on the ground.

"Ahh... I must be going psychotic, How can a rejected omega like you be of my kind?" He said, then stood up.

Gabriel was about to return to his car when he felt two hands on his legs.

"Please help me. Help me, please!" Selena cried before collapsing and letting go of his limb.

"What is happening? Why do I feel pathetic, damaged, and in agony? Wait! These are not my emotions, they are hers. Who the heck are you?!" Gabriel uttered.
