A familiar scent

About five minutes passed, and Gabriel came out of his room wearing a fashionable long black leather jacket, a ripped white t-shirt, shredded black skinny jeans, and black leather boots.

Bob was waiting by the door. When he saw his young master coming out, he did not say a word. Instead, Bob obediently followed Gabriel. As they were leaving the house, none of Gabriel's servants dared to look into his eyes. Fear was the only emotion flowing through the mansion as Gabriel walked past them. They all kept their heads bent until he left his villa.

"Boss, let me get the door for you!" Bob said when he and Gabriel reached his boss's black La Voiture Noire.

"Hand the key to me!" Gabriel ordered.

Bob wanted to respond, but he kept his opinions to himself, and obediently gave the car key to his young master.

Gabriel wore his dark shades and a white cap before getting into the driver's seat. Bob stood still outside the vehicle, waiting on his young master to instruct him on what to do.

"Bob! Should I lift you and put you in the car?" Gabriel shouted after starting the car's engine.

"No, sir. Sorry, sir!" Bob replied and entered the automobile.

It took them a thirty-minute drive for a ride that should have been an hour trip because of how fast Gabriel was driving. Bob clutched his seatbelt the entire journey. When his young master parked the car into the parking lot of the mall, Bob got out of the vehicle, feeling dizzy and nauseous.

"Don't vomit next to my car, Bob!" Gabriel shouted.

"Yes, sir!" Bob replied. He bent over, holding his stomach, ran to the trash bin, and barfed in it.

"Here you go!! Clean that mess from around your mouth before following me. You look terrible!" Gabriel stated and threw a towel at Bob after he had returned to the car.

"Thank you, sir!" Bob replied as he grabbed the towel.

Gabriel and his butler left the parking lot and went into the mall. The shopping center seemed occupied with different species, and it was loud. Crowded and noisy places were number one on Gabriel's hate list. But this mall did not bother him since there was a specific reason he came to this particular place.

Jin! Hurry up. Your dress is ready for you to try on." Mila shouted at her daughter. She and Jin had gone to the mall to pick up their attire for the party.

"I will soon be with you, mother. I need to make a call!" Jin screamed back as she gazed at her phone screen. Since Jin promised her mother that she would follow in a short while. Mila when into the boutique and left her behind.

"Why is he not answering any of my texts? Did he receive the cash? If he did, then I should have gotten a message from him by now. Why is he taking so long to answer my call? Something is not right." Jin anxiously said as she paced back and forth with her phone to her ear.

Gabriel and his butler continued walking, and Bob kept making sure that his young master did not touch anyone or that no one could bump into his master. In the process of keeping Gabriel safe from human contact, he knocked into Jin, and her phone dropped.

"You old fool! Are you blind or dumb in the head? Look what you did to my phone! Even if you sell your old self, you can't buy this phone. How are you going to compensate me now!" Jin screamed.

People that were passing by stopped and watched. The place became even more congested, and Gabriel could sense his inner alpha getting annoyed.

"Madam, your phone does not have a scratch on it. So why are you asking me to pay for it? If you need money, you can beg for it rather than scamming me for some." Bob replied.

Everyone started whispering and pointing fingers at Jin, and that made her mad. She could not believe she had just got shamed by a grandpa and his grandson.

"Wow! Look here, grandpa! It's you and your grandson who are beggars, not me. Do you know who my mother is? You and your grandson are not worthy enough to touch my shoes or breathe the same air as me!" Jin shouted, waving her hand in front of Gabriel and Bob dramatically.

"Uh! Aged people, these days are so corrupt, I can believe he encouraged his grandson to rob a wealthy girl." A lady among the crowd said.

"Yeah! And the grandson can't take care of his grandfather, but bring him out to steal from people." Another man yelled.

Jin folded her hands and smiled. The crowd was now on her side, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

The noise grew louder, and Gabriel was irritated by all the commotion. Plus, he was mad that someone thought they could get away after embarrassing his butler and him.

Jin's smile faded when she mistakenly stared at Gabriel. Although Jin could not see his eyes, she still felt the need to stand submissively and listen to him.

"You are a dog! Now stop barking and sit still!" Gabriel whispers, but Jin could hear it loud and clear. She squats on the ground, puts her tongue outside, and huffs like an obedient puppy.

The crowd got confused and bewildered about what was going on. Mumbling sounds were echoing around the place as everyone tried to figure out why Jin was acting like an animal.

"Hey, you all! Go home, and don't try to remember your day at the mall!" Gabriel announced, and the crowd did exactly that. They started going their separate ways and did not speak a word.

"Bob, let's go!" Gabriel said.

However, when Gabriel took two steps, he lost his balance and almost fell, but he lent on the wall to support himself. His eyes got dim, and he felt a piercing pain in his brain.

Bob rushed to his young master's side and put Gabriel's hand around his neck, allowing Gabriel to rest on him as a means to help his young master to walk.

A few minutes passed, Gabriel came to himself and removed his hand from around Bob's neck. His butler still appeared worried when Gabriel looked at his face.

"I am okay, Bob. I am just experiencing the side effects of me using my power continuously. There were a few dominant alphas in the crowd, which is why I lost myself for a moment. But my strength is back."  Gabriel explains, and Bob's stressed expression softens a little.

"Jin! Jin! Jin! Jin! Snap out of it!" Mila shouted at her daughter. She had been waiting for Jin when she felt this robust power in the mall. So Mila came to check who that power belongs to and saw her daughter behaving like a pup.

After the fourth call, Jin broke free from Gabriel's command and stood up. Her legs were in pain, and her tongue felt weird in her mouth.

"Silly child, why are you disgracing our family name in public! What happened to you?" Mila screamed.

Jin dressed back a little. Although they were in a public area, she was not sure if that could stop her mother from hurting her.

"I don't remember, mom!" Jin cried. She could not recall anything that had happened to her after her mother left her outside of the boutique.

"Okay! Go inside the store and wait for me there. I will be with you soon." Mila said. Her eyes had caught a glance of Gabriel and Bob going up the escalator, and she sensed a familiar aroma coming from one of them that made her want to know who they were.

"Where are you going?" Jin called out as she watched her mother walking suspiciously behind two men.

Gabriel had detected Mila's scent following them, but it did not bother him since he did not smell anything threatening about her, and he could only sense curiosity in her scent.

Mila traces them from the first floor to the twelfth level. However, she stopped tracking them when she got on the elevator and clicked on button thirteen, but she got denied access to that floor.

"Why was that energy so familiar? I could swear that it was Ace's scent. No, that can't be. He and his family are dead. I made sure of it."  Mila said to herself as the elevator took her down to level one.
