Chapter Fourteen - This isn't funny

I was crouched down on the concrete basement floor. My vision was still obscured, my face and arm were heavily bleeding, and I still could not contact my wolf. I felt deflated and believed that this would be the end for me. I couldn't see any way out of the dire situation that I was in. Unless my vision, or wolf senses miraculously reappeared within the next few seconds, I knew that I wouldn't be able to protect myself from her next attack. 

I held my blood-covered hand in front of me for protection, then used my other hand to feel behind me as I shuffled backwards. I didn't want her being able to sneak up behind me, so I decided to back myself up against the wall. Every time I inched back a little I could hear her feet take a few steps forward. At least I know she's in front of me, I thought to myself. My hand finally hit the brick wall, so I pushed myself up against it and gradually rose to my feet.
