1- Pregnancy result.

England (Deardre)

"The test results came out positive."

"What? Does this mean I'm pregnant?"

"Yes, you're two weeks pregnant miss Smith," The doctor extended his right hand towards her for an handshake as he added,"Congratulation."

Deardre had tears in her eyes not because she got pregnant out of wedlock but because she didn't know how her parents were going to take in the information. They were racists and had always been against her relationship with Jordan because he was black.

"Are you okay?" With one of his brow shot up, Doctor Anderson asked, noticing the tears in her blue eyes.

"I'm fine. Just overwhelmed." She sniffed, reaching out to her handkerchief in her purse to wipe off the tear that rolled down her cheeks.

Doctor Anderson's chest vibrated as laughter erupted from his mouth. Deardre gave him an inquisitive stare as she wasn't expecting him to laugh. What was so funny by the way?

"What? Don't look at me like that. I'm laughing because I'm excited that you're going to be a mother soon. Your fiancée will be excited about this." He said.

She ignored the fact that she found her family doctor weird and wished in her heart that her parents would, just like Doctor Anderson, acknowledge Jordan as their daughter's fiancee.

Now that she thought of it, Jordan also had to know that in nine months time, they were going to have a baby. She didn't know the sex of the child but she imagined the baby having Jordan's coily hair, dark skin and her blue eyes.

Deardre tapped her stomach, "You're going to be a beautiful... or handsome baby. Your dad and I would cherish you." She whispered to herself.

"Were you talking to me?" Doctor Anderson  inquired, thinking she had spoken to him.

"No sir," She stood up from her seat which was directly opposite his. The only thing  separating them was the huge table in the middle. "Please do me a favor."

"What is that?"

"Don't tell my parents about this news. I'll do that myself. You know how they feel about..."

She didn't need to complete her sentence for Doctor Anderson knew. Having being the Smiths family Doctor for years, he knew quite a lot of things that happened in the family.

He gave her an assuring nod, "I won't."

"Thanks, doc." She shook hands with him again, "I will take my leave now."

Immediately Deardre left the hospital, she headed to the bus stop. She was going to take a bus to where Jordan lived. While waiting for the bus to come, she continuously dialed Jordan's line. After several attempts but failing to reach him through calls because he wasn't picking up, she decided to send him a text.

'Babe, I'm on my way to your apartment. I have good news that I can't wait to share with you.'

Deardre re-read the text she had sent Jordan while waiting for his reply. She hadn't been to his house lately cause they were both busy and she was also feeling sick. He couldn't come to her home since her father's security guards had been warned not to let him in. They only had social media for daily communication and that too they had little or no time for.

The bus arrived faster than she had expected it to, and Deardre jumped into the bus, having a sudden eerie feeling about going to Jordan's house without his knowledge but kept on telling herself she had to for the sake of their unborn child.

Almost an hour later, she got to Jordan's house. Ringing the doorbell severally without no response, Deardre got worried and decided to try Jordan's line again.

Just as she reached for her phone in her purse, someone unlocked the door from inside and she came face to face in contact with a lady she hadn't seen before.

"Hello, who are you and who are you looking for?" the lady asked her.

Deardre stared at her in shock. She had many thoughts running through her mind. She wanted to ask the lady if she was Jordan relative, girlfriend or work buddy but she thought against it.

"Hello..." The impatient lady waved her hand in front of Deardre's face.

Deardre blinked repeatedly before she spoke, "Uhm.. Is Jordan in? My name is Deardre Smith and I'm his fiancee," She waved slightly too so the redhead  would see she was engaged.

It was another way of her saying, "Fuck off, Jordan's mine" and staking her claim. Just in case the lady was oblivious to the fact that her and Jordan was already on their way to the altar.

"Sorry to say this to you but there is no one in this building that goes by that name." The redhead lady informed her.

Deardre couldn't believe it, "No." She shook her head sideways, "No. My Jordan lives here. What are you saying and who are you?"

The lady sighed, "I'm Camile, the new occupant of this building. I think if there was any Jordan living in this building, then he/she has moved out."

Deardre couldn't believe her ears,

"No. I don't believe you. This can't be happening to me. Jordan can't leave just like that without calling texting or informing me. I'm already carrying his child!" Deardre yelled, on the verge of shedding tears.

Camile pitied her but there was nothing she could help with or probably do for her, "I'm sorry."

With that said, Camile went inside the house and shut the door quietly.

Deardre fell to her knees as tears gushed out of her eyes.

Jordan left! Jordan fucking left me!

The words kept ringing in her head. She squeezed her eyes shut and subconsciously used her right hand to squeeze her dress close to her chest. The heartache she felt became physical. She couldn't bare the pains and she didn't want to believe that Jordan would do such a terrible thing as leaving without informing her first.

That instant, she wished she had listened to her parents.
