Shocking everyone

Without anyone excluded, starstruck expressions and gasps spread through the room. Few in the room had difficulty believing what they heard; Clayton was the prime example of that.

Due to the immense shock, he let out of her cheeks and blinked his eyes multiple times before her, unable to understand the situation.

Once the shock was gone from their faces, the maids were in awe with their young lady. Seeing her stand up for herself and say those mature words for the first time managed to strike them at their heartstrings.

Everyone present wanted to see this continue further.

"Yah! Why are you acting—"

"Don't put your hand on my shoulder," she voiced out, "Since you abused me until this age, I am still shaken up in your presence."

The earlier words were somewhat acceptable, but this time around, they couldn't believe it further. How did a docile child learn to say something as sharp and mature as this?

Their young lady did not hang around with anyone suspicious, and her education was overseen by all of them personally. Could it be that this was the natural personality of their Young Lady?

"What? What? What? Why are you looking at me like this? If you keep on crossing this line, I will teach you a lesson you will regret," he threatened, pointing his finger at her.

The corner of her lips curved to form a smirk while mock was visible in her eyes before she voiced out, "Pathetic."

Although this situation was quite interesting, Betty knew that this could be bad for the Young Lady's reputation if it got out. Not all of the maids here trustworthy, and she did not want the Young Lady to be the target of malicious gossips.

With that intent in her mind, Betty took a step forward, but before she was able to say anything, Lyle interrupted. As the most mature one, he had a clear understanding of how the situation might unravel.

"Leave us alone," he ordered— his voice loud and clear.

Although couple of the maids were reluctant, with a bow, they obediently left the room, closing the door. Betty was included in the bunch as well.

Unfortunately, before Seraphine was able to go too— for being in the room with this two made her feel suffocated— the door was closed. Seeing the huge door before her made her feel baffled.

Shouldn't they put her into consideration and make it smaller?

Standing on her toes, she tried to reach the handle, but that effort wasn't enough. She was still couple of centimetres away from that golden handle.

Knowing that she might seem like a joke to the other two, a frustrated sigh escaped from her parted lips.

Despite of the moans that left her mouth and how much she tried to stretch her hand, it didn't seem possible for her.

"Midget, give up! You can't do it!" Clayton commented.

Certainly, she wanted to ignore the idiot, but the thing was that if she did that, the idiot— who easily can't get things through his head— might believe that she is subservient to him.

"Can't you just keep your mouth shut? One would think that you are smart for once," she voiced out.

Her words infuriated the man to no end. Taking in a deep breath, his cheeks started to redden, and he made his steps towards her— his eyes glaring at her.

With her hands folded over her chest, she stared at him mock, and the corner of her lips were curved upwards. Dealing with him was a piece of cake.

"You! You! You! What would a midget like you know? I have been called genius multiple number of times! So, shut your mouth if you don't want to get beaten up," he voiced out.

Bringing her face closer to her, she scoffed and said, "Don't you think that those are just empty words. Even if you looked like a pig, they would call you handsome. I can't believe that you were stupid enough to believe that."

Before Clayton was able to retort, Lyle, wearing a immaculate smile on his face, pushed his glass upwards slightly and said, "Now, that's not a way to speak to your older brother, Seraphine, is it?"

Although the younger was easy to deal with, the same couldn't be said for Clayton— who was the smarter on.

Being in charge of Seraphine's education, he basically controlled all aspects of her life. Not only had he restrained the girl, he also was quite strict to her from a young age.

Due to it, 'Seraphine' was better in most aspects that those of her age. When the kids should be playing, she was put in a room by her brother and was made to study.

Although this made her be known as one of the talented girls in the country, giving up a childhood for it wasn't fair. Moreover, it didn't seem that 'Seraphine' wasn't exactly excited for it.

It was just that her masochistic and obedient personality that made owe persist through it.

Seraphine was aware of how Lyle's words contained a threat; that glint in his eyes confirmed it. Everytime she did anything wrong, Lyle would punish her, and in no way did she consider those punishments to be humane for a young child.

Staring at Lyle with her innocence filled eyes, Seraphine bowed at Clayton and then Lyle before saying, "I am sorry."

Then, standing up straight, she added, "I am really sorry for being honest. Brother Lyle is right. I shouldn't be rude and bring up something you lack. It's not good to make fun of other's weakness like this."

During the entire time, her eyes seemed to read, 'Now, try to go against that! Assholes!'

While Lyle remained speechless, Clayton, on the other hand, spoke out, "It's good as long as you understand— Did you just insult me right now, You Midget!?"

Blinking her eyes multiple number of times, Seraphine confusedly said, "What do you mean? Did I do something wrong again?"

Going over to her, Clayton placed his hand on her shoulder and stated, "It seems that we need to work on your manners more.

Now, return to your room, Seraphine, and don't go outside. An important person will be coming tomorrow, and you need to take care of yourself properly before that."
