HIS DESIRE

Chapter One

James Andrew, the CEO of Andrews Limited sighed heavily on the chair in his large and well furnished office, besuited in color red and white shirt. It was valentine's day.

But,he had no one to celebrate with at the age of thirty. No woman was in his life. They all date, use and jilt him for no reason exactly. It was obvious they were all after his money so he decided to remain a bachelor for a while.

James sat upright as he pondered about his life. His parents had been pestering him, wanting to see their grandchildren . They wanted him to choose a woman from a good home and who he loved. They did not want to choose for him.

Being the third and last born,he was cherished and loved by his twins brothers,Peter and Paul. His brothers had gotten married and had two kids each. He was the only single in the family.

The more he pondered, the more he realized that none of these women had any tangible reason neither did he find any flaw in himself. He was handsome, tall and with slightly curved legs. To top it all,he was rich. Wealthy,in fact. He owned a big company. He was just so unlucky to have met the first few gold diggers.

He decided to let the issue off his mind. He had got a lot to do than to sit down, pondering about what he now considered not to be his top priority.

He heard a knock sounded on the door,so he ordered the person to come in.

Vivian went in and sat before him. She was a friend of his. She was beautifully dressed in skimpy red and white gown and red stilettoes and white hat. She had put on a blue lens which made her eyeballs blue and pretty and had a nicely shaped lips which smiled at him.

   She was indeed beautiful.

James was lost and far from reality with the dazzling angel before him. She was once his crush and he had summoned his courage and ask her out,but she had turned him down without genuine reason. He had thought that she felt the same way for him, but he concluded he was wrong when she turned him down. That could only be the reason because he did not believe in what she told him that she could not go out with the friend she had gotten used to.

That actually hurt him, but he made up his mind to forget having her in such an intimate way. And he was trying, just that he couldn't help not being mesmerized when she appear sexy like she did now.

"James?" Vivian jerked him back to life from his dream land.

He smiled. "Oh! Sorry, I was just thinking about something," he said, leaning forward so that his two elbows were on his desk which was separating the two of them.

"What were you thinking? Well, I am sorry I disallowed your secretary to inform you I was outside. I wanted it to be a surprise but it wasn't," Vivian said with a disappointed look.

Yeah, she could order her secretary around on some certain things. That was how close she was to him.

"Oh,no! It is indeed a surprise to see you on such a day like this. Tell me,what brings you here?" He asked, leaning back on his chair.

"I want us to go on a date,James. You have no plans, right?" Vivian asked, smiling.

James stared deeply at her. He had known her to be a person of free mind. She had no difficulty in expressing herself. That was one thing he did not like. What was the point of teasing him with something he could not have? He cleared his throat and returned the smile. "I'm sorry, but —," he tried to say.

"No buts,James. We're going out and that's it. Aren't you bored here? Come on,let's go," She persisted, rising to her feet.

Left with no choice,James followed her and they went to an eatery to eat and drink. The place was beautifully decorated and there were so many couples coming in and out of the place. He quickly averted his gaze so as not to return to his pondering state. The case,as trivial as he might have seen it,was making him sad and uncomfortable.

It made him lonely. What to do! Vivian was just his friend. Nothing more or less than that. She did not want more.

"I love this place," he commented.

"Really? Well,I guess it's nice," Vivian said with her generous smile.

"Yes. Hum — Let's get going. I still have some works in the company to take a look at," James said, admiringly. He was expecting her to say 'No,let's stay a while,' but it was ' Yes, let's go' instead.

They had eaten and spent some minutes enjoying the view of the place. It was quite. He would not have minded to stay for as long as he could if he was there with his woman, but he was not.

Should he be disappointed? Never can tell. They rose up and cleared their bills, then took their leave.
