MARRIED...

AUTHOR'S POV

She was really staring at him looking like a statue, frozen in time. She pulled herself out of her thoughts and looked up at him after shaking her head.

"I was not staring at you.... I was just lost in my own thoughts". Sia looked away not wanting to look at him anymore. But Hardin's eyes were fixed on her while slowly drinking his wine, taking in her nervous posture. The way her breath was shaky. The way she didn't know where to keep her hands. He smirked taking another sip. It was amusing to him.

Sia was nervous, feeling Hardin's unwavering gaze on her. He was the only man capable of making her nervous, but she didn't know why she felt like this around him. Maybe because he was the only person who was able to look right through her, maybe because he was the person who knew her the best or maybe because she knew what he was truly capable of.... destruction".

Sia refused to give him the satisfaction of getting a reaction out of her. She forced herself to look in his eyes again, "Look now who is staring at who" She pursed her lips, folding her arms on her chest, "And by the way I have asked you many times to not call me your wife"

He had that same iciness in his eyes that always made Sia nervous, "I have all rights to stare at you and YOU ARE MY WIFE" His cold eyes not leaving Sia's dull for even a second, " The sooner you accept, the reality the better it will be for everyone" Another sip.

Bringing up this topic always made her furious, "Our so called marriage is just a contract Hardin, you should also remember that". Not even a hint of expressions betraying her emotions.

Hardin felt the familiar chill running down his back that he felt when she called his name. His name sounded so sweet coming from her mouth. Hardin smirked, his lips turning up in that same devilish curve that Sia hated, " Yeah!!!... A contract, in which you signed your whole life to me". Hardin finally managed to hit the soft spot he thought. He loved teasing her.

Sia understood what he was trying to do, "Yeah!!! A contract in which I signed my whole life to you.... I often regret it but I can't do anything about it now, can I?".

That was checkmate. It was Sia's turn to smirk.

An unrecognizable emotion flashed in Hardin's eyes, that confused Sia, but before she could comprehend what it was, his face went back to the usual blank mask, "This conversation is going to go nowhere, so it's better if we drop it".

Sia knew it was useless so she decided to drop it as well. There is no use digging out old graves,"Why--". Sia started but Hardin replied even before she could ask the question. "Why did I wanted to meet right? I called you here because, you will accompany me to a party tonight".

Sia looked at him with a poker, refusing face without moving from her spot, "You know, you gave me a year. You can't ask me to accompany you anywhere. People don't know we are married.... They might take me as some of your whores". Sia refused him straight away, as people didn't know about their marriage except for some like Louis.

She paused remembering something else as well, "And besides you promised me something! The day you will fulfill your promise will be the day when I will be yours forever as you always, indirectly call it".

Hardin stared at her, "I didn't ask if you wanted to come or not. I said you WILL accompany me to a party tonight...." Hardin stepped forward with the glass in his left hand, but he was still an arms length away from her, "Now baby, You are going to go to the guest room in the east wing, where your dress and makeup artist is waiting for you and then you are going to get ready and come with me". He ordered her not giving in to her protests at all.

But she was Sia. She was stubborn and a rebel, " I won't do everything, you ask me to do...I am not your doll" A frown was adorning her flawless forehead, defying him confidently.

Hardin took a few more steps towards her until he was just a breath away. She could raise her hand and touch him, but she knew she would never do it again.

He raised his hand to take a string of hair from her face and placed it behind her ear. The closeness was making her heart beat faster, her mind reliving the old memories. Looking in her eyes, his eyes softened. His voice dropped down a few octaves, turning into sweet whisper that made her breath hitch, "You are going to do everyting I ask of you..... You don't have a choice. You have already sold your soul to a devil like me. It's no use fighting me anymore".

Sia for a moment was stunned by the same soft look in his eyes. The same look that always made her feel warm, "I...I" She stuttered because he was too close and she couldn't focus on anything but his eyes. That's why she didn't want to look in them.

Hardin was successful in getting the desired reaction out of her. He knew her weakness well. He slowly caressed her face, his fingers going from her forheard to her red cheeks finally finding their destination at her lips. He caressed her lower lip, "Get ready.... I will be waiting for you!" His tone was soft just like his eyes. He retracted his hand and shook his head stepping away from her and then leaving.

Sia was frozen on her spot finally realizing that she has been holding her breath. She breathed heavily and turned around. But he was not there anymore.

Sia knew he was successful in manipulating her again. He knew well, how to use her weakness against her. She shook her thoughts and went towards the room knowning she doesn't have a choice but to do what he wanted for now. She was also thinking about the rumours that were going to spark after they will be spotted together tonight....
