Chapter One.

Nathaniel’s Obsession

Nathaniel woke up in a gasp. It was the same old shit. His parents screamed as they were shot, just before the fire began. The loud cries of Isobel telling him to go get their parents forever haunted him. He watched as the clock ticked. It was 2:18 a.m, the same time every day. He woke up the same time after his nightmare every day. It was either that or a bloody Emily asking him, why he killed her.

He sighed before he moved the covers that were now damp with sweat away from his body and headed into the bathroom. He would take a quick shower then go for a drive, preferably to the club where he could pick up a woman. He needed to let off some steam.

Nathaniel got ready and to his surprise, his sister, Isobel was lounging in the living room. He wondered why she wasn’t asleep at this time.

“Why are you up?” Nathaniel asked scaring her. He managed to hide his smirk as he remembered how much he liked getting on her nerves. He watched how her shoulders shook before she placed a hand on her chest.

“Stop sneaking up on me, for fuck’s sake,” Isobel said, her voice sounding higher than usual.

Nathaniel looked at her disapprovingly. He never agreed with her language, but his sister was as hard-headed as he was.

“What’s wrong?” Nathaniel asked, coming to sit near her. His trip out could wait for a little.

“Nothing, just not sleepy,” Isobel said, avoiding his eyes. She hoped he would not be able to read her, but the hope was short-lived.

“I know that face, tell me. And it better not be a fucking dumb guy,” Nathaniel said, his voice rising at the last part.

“What guy?” Isobel asked annoyed. Her brothers made sure she had no boyfriends all throughout high school and Nathaniel, more importantly, still scared away the ones she liked, bringing them home wasn’t even an option.

"I thought so too, " Nathaniel shrugged, still looking at her expectantly. She knew she had to say something, anything even if it was a lie, but it was the truth that fell from her lips.

“I don’t want to go back to live with those people... De Rosas...” Isobel said simply.

“Are they hurting you?” Nathaniel asked grabbing her chin gently, making her look into his eyes.

“No!” Isobel said before she continued, “It’s just...I’m tired of this. Father and mother would not want us, especially to spend our lives this way. I’m tired of being stuck in there, pretending to be what I’m not,” Isobel watched his jaw harden and she knew he was angry already.

“Father and mother would not rest in peace until we make them pay,” Nathaniel said his eyes flashing in anger.

“We don’t even know it was them for sure. I don’t want to do this, Nathaniel. You are making me do this. I don’t even feel safe there. Please..” Isobel said the last part, holding his arms. She watched his eyes soften for a moment before they hardened.

“I have already made my decision. You will continue this, ” He said getting up angrily. “It is your duty to your family. Now go to bed, ” He bent to kiss her head before he walked out.

Nathaniel walked into the club and it was like he was an instant chick magnet. The club was still alive. He made his way to the VIP lounge since he frequented almost every day he decided to gift himself with the membership.

He ordered a drink for himself and sooner or later, the object of his attention passed. She was outside the lounge, but he still noticed her and he would be damned if he didn’t get into her pants tonight. She was hot and she had a hot number on. He motioned for Fred, the club manager, to get her into the lounge and over to him. As he sipped on his drink, he saw how a pleasing look made its way to her face when she followed Fred’s notion to him. Nathaniel took a deep breath, knowing she would be easy.

“Hey handsome, you’re back for more, ” She shouted into his ear over the loud music when she approached him. She was sitting very close to him. He downed his drink, before dropping it on the table in front of him.

Nathaniel stared at her. She was pretty, nice hair, nice tits. Sad, that he didn’t remember her.

“Come with me,” was all he said to her taking her hand. The way her eyes shined at his advance made him break his seriousness. He made his way to a hotel, took her up to a room.

Nathaniel watched her look around the room. Before she could even speak, he told her to strip. Nathaniel didn’t want them making any small talk or her asking him stupid personal questions. She obliged quickly, and Nathaniel felt himself getting hard as he stared at her body. Her nipples were already hard. He beckoned her to come closer, but she continued to put a show up for him. She slowly took off the underwear she had on before she turned around bending over so he had a full view of her cunt from behind.

Fuck, she was hot. He slowly began to remove his clothes as he watched how she turned over and began to rub her snatch. He stroked his cock as he watched her. He watched how she came, her eyes rolling backward. She licked her fingers clean before she made her way to him. She took his cock in her hands and continued his onslaught. A groan left his lips as she took his cock into her mouth and sucked. She had a mouth on her. She came up and made to kiss him, but he moved his lips away from hers. He pulled her with him.

“Hands and knees,” Nathaniel whispered into her ear before he took a lobe into his mouth. He pulled on a condom and he preferred not to see her faces as they fucked. It helped him stay unattached. He thrust two fingers into her, she was still wet and warm. He continued before he thrust his cock into her cunt. A loud moan left her lips as she scrunched the sheets in her hands. His hands closed over her breasts as he continued to fuck her. She continued to rub her clit until they both came violently. That was how he liked it.

He laid on his back on the bed for a few moments, when she came to touch him he held her hand and shook his head at her. He didn’t know why, but fucking her he still felt like he was fucking around on Emily. He needed a way to let steam off and most times this way always won. He knew she didn’t care and she let him know how she felt before she walked out of his life.

Nathaniel watched her dress up to wear her clothes. He was glad there was no conversation between them because he honestly had nothing to say to her. What would he say “you have a nice rack”, he thought to himself? She left not before telling him she’ll see him next time. He liked how she knew the drill. He would be seeing her next time.

He made his way out of the bed, knowing there was no way he would be spending a night on that bed.

As Nathaniel drove home, he thought about what his family would be like. He wondered if his mother would still always fuss about them. She was always up in their business when she wasn’t with his father. It didn’t matter where they went to, she would always accompany them and stay in the sidelines. At that time, Isobel was very young about three years old. So she always enjoyed having her mother around. She also enjoyed being with her brothers, she was their shadow.

His childhood ended the day their parents died. Everything in him that thirsted to be a child died, the minute he saw his parents being shot in the head. He held his sister and brother down so they wouldn’t see. They didn’t need to see anything like that. It would follow them forever just like it followed him. Their need for revenge was not even half as strong as his, sometimes he thinks if they had seen their parents died they would want to avenge.

Nathaniel got into their home. It was a new house, they just purchased it a few years ago. Their old home, the one his father built, burnt down with all their memories.

He was glad Isobel wasn’t up still lounging around. He knew he would soon avenge his parent's death and it would be over. All she needed to do was be his ears in that house. He would start by taking their shipments. He didn’t care though, he would take the responsibility into his own hands.

“You can’t keep making her do this!” Rafael shouted following his brother into the kitchen.

Nathaniel watched how Isobel’s shoulders shook. He kissed her cheek before he sat on the breakfast bench. He poured some coffee for himself before he finally stared at Rafael.

“I’m not making her do anything. She’s doing this as a duty to her family,” Nathaniel said, glaring at his brother.

“What? Father and mother are dead! Nothing we do is going to bring them back, we have lives. We should be—” Rafael said his voice continued rising. Before he could complete his sentence, Nathaniel wrapped his arms around his neck and pushed him against the wall.

“If you’re not going to help us, then shut the fuck up,” Nathaniel growled at his brother.

“Nathaniel!” Isobel shouted, pulling his arm that had an iron grip on Rafael's neck. He let go of his brother when he noticed his struggles lessened.

Isobel poured some water in a glass for a coughing Rafael. She motioned for him to sit on the opposite side of Nathaniel. It irked him when Rafael always thought them going back and living their lives was a good decision.

“You good?” Nathaniel asked his brother when the atmosphere had calmed down. Even though his brother always pissed him off, he would do anything for him.

Rafael nodded, avoiding his brother’s eyes.

“You need to control your temper,” Isobel said as she plated breakfast for the three of them. She sat beside Nathaniel.

Nathaniel only nodded as he stuffed his face. Nathaniel noticed his brother was only picking at his food, he was actually not eating anything. Nathaniel wiped his mouth before he spoke.

“Problem?” Nathaniel said looking at Rafael.

Rafael was shaking his head no, but he was speaking.
“I know mom would want us to continue living our lives. Do you know how dangerous it is keeping her there? If they find out who she is, they will kill her. Nothing we do will bring them back,”

“Yeah you’re right, but until they pay I’m never going to let it go. So if you’re not helping, then shut the fuck up, ” Nathaniel said angrily.

“Look it’s fine. It’s just a little while longer. It’ll be over before we know it,” Isobel said, looking at Rafael. She was pleading with him to drop it. When Nathaniel got angry it didn’t matter what or who was in his path. She knew he would never do lasting damage to any of them, but it was still better to avoid it at all costs.

“Tell me what’s been going on there?” Nathaniel asked after a while. He wanted to be sure that Isobel was doing what she was meant to do.

“Well, they are nice people.” Isobel began, she watched how Nathaniel turned to look at her. “They’re scared I think. We all moved to Octavio’s house. They know someone is out to get them.”

“As they should,” Nathaniel said. “What do they talk about?”

“They are very private, Nathaniel. I have never once heard them talking about anything. Kids are always around them too,” Isobel said, thinking about how things were back at the De Rosa mansion.

“Well if they are tense, they will buckle. They’ll make a mistake and Octavio will get what’s coming his way.” Nathaniel said before he left them to his study. He knew they both knew to do as he said. They generally always listened to him and never really questioned him, up until he began the revenge.

Nathaniel made a few phone calls before he walked out into the balcony and lit a smoke for himself. He needed to relax and think. This was one of the things that helped him for the longest time before he met Emily. Emily helped him live and breathe again. He was not good enough for her and he ruined her just like he did every other thing in his life. His heart hardened further as he took a long inhale of the smoke. He swore on everything that he had and owned that he would never let anything bad come to Rafael and Isobel. He would happily die before anyone thought to harm them.

His father always told him that one day he would take his place and the time had come. He had to step up at fourteen and protect a ten-year-old and three-year-old. He made sure they were straight before he thought about himself. Although his grandmother had been there to watch over them until he officially became eighteen. He was mostly in charge of everything because his grandmother was too heartbroken and still is from the death of his father, her son.

“Nathaniel..” Isobel called from the doorway of the balcony. She had been standing there for a moment hoping he would notice her presence, but he seemed like he was hell-bent on ignoring her, or just too deep in thought.

“Yeah?” Nathaniel answered turning his head to look at her once. He hated it when anyone bothered his quiet time. He put the smoke away.

“Are you mad at me?” Isobel asked as she came to stand next to him leaning on the railing.

“Don’t lean on it,” Nathaniel admonished, he ignored how she rolled her eyes before she moved away from the railing. He finally turned to look at her. “No, I’m not angry. What do you need?”

“Nothing. I’m just heading to work now. You know Octavio’s mansion..” Isobel said with a bitter look on her face.

Nathaniel raised his eyebrow at her expectantly wondering if she had more to say.

“I know! I know it’s almost over. ” Isobel said before she leaned in to kiss his cheek. It was what she did every time before she left the house.

“Be careful.” He said simply to her, and she nodded before she left. He was about to face another night of more nightmares knowing his sister was away and in the house of the people that murdered their parents.
