Chapter 5

"No man, she wasn't able to apologize to you because she's MUTE".

Unknown POV 

A feeling of shock runs down my spine. I see a single tear leave her eye. I feel guilty for insulting her. I remember insulting at the mall. Its all coming back to me now, she couldn't apologize because she is mute. 

I didn't know what to say, I was lost of words. I am not a type that apologizes, that is one thing I didn't learn as I grew. 

She stands up and looks towards Collins and write. "I'm done with your mom's orders, please come with me".

"That's my girl" Collins said and she smiled as we follow her out of the office.

I feel terrible at the moment. I was lost of words. I didn't know what to say but I'm sure anything I'm about to say, she doesn't want to hear.

Ava's POV 

Stupid guy ruined my mood. But at least Collins was a total darling. He's fucking hot but his shitty character spoils it all. 

There is a knock of my door, Maria comes in with a red head girl. "Ava, she wanted to see you". I give her a smile and nod.

I smile and bring out my usual paper... YOU ARE WELCOME. 

"Thank you. My name is Peyton"

She may be around my age. With long red hair and long lashes, she a bit taller than I am and is wearing a bom shorts and crop top and ankle chain, she's in a white heels, and carrying a chain bag. 

She's very stylish! I love her already. 

"Please I'm here coz I saw the sigh board that says you need a chef".

I nod at her and write. So you want the job?

She smiles. "Yes". I nod again and write.

You will have to prepare the dishes on the list. I show her passing her a list of dishes.

She reads it and nods. "That I can do".

I smile and text Maria to come pick her.

My phone beeps.

Colton 

How is work going roomie 😉? 

I roll my eyes and smile. 

Ava

Work is going fine C, you? 

I smile at Colton who is always checking up on me, he's like a caring boyfriend. I have not seen him in that way. He's just my best friend and that is what he will ever be to me. 

Colton

Going fine. Make sure you bring back dinner or you are dead. 

I smile. 

In less than two hours, there is another knock on the door. Maria opens it for Peyton who has a tray in her hands and a smile plastered on her lips.

She brings it down on my table and I see is a plate of key lime pie with a swipe of vanilla cream on top and banana split. I take a spoon of the lime pie and moan.

Oh she's really good.

I smile at her as she looks at me expectantly. I write.

Maria please could you taste it too?

"Of course Ava" Maria moves forward and takes a spoon of the pie and banana split. She nods her head at me.

"She's good, Ava."

I write. Congrats Peyton. You got the job.

She jumps up and down in happiness. I write again. Maria pls show her around and tell her what she needs to do yeah?

"Of course Ava, Peyton let's go".

Its past 6pm and I get ready to leave, the workers leave while the cleaners clean up the restaurant. I pack up my things into my bag.

I go over to the kitchen to pack up Colton's dinner. Colton will kill me if i came back without dinner.

I walk into the sitting room and bury myself into my new couch, my new favourite, my one and only couch, only meant for me. Before I came back today, he had already changed the couch. I love this one. 

I walk into my room, take off my clothes and head to the shower. I throw my hair into a ponytail, a messy one, wear a tank top and joggers, i head to the kitchen to take a glass of water and microwave Colton's dinner before he comes back.

Colton loves spaghetti and honey baked chicken so that's what I got for him. I pour the spaghetti separately into a plate and the chicken into another plate.

I put it into the microwave and time it before cleaning up the kitchen.

Am good at all these stuff, I love cooking and eating too, That's why I have a restaurant where I can eat unlimited food. I  head to the sitting room as my favourite program's about to start.

When the microwave dings, I check my time. Colton's will soon be home. I begin setting the table for dinner. I wanted to say a big thank you to Colton. 

I head to my room when I'm done and put on a flair skirt and top. I lose my hair and tie it in a more better ponytail. I bought cardboard sheets earlier and some markers. I begin designing a big 'THANKS COLTON, YOU ARE THE BEST THING THAT HAVE EVER HAPPENED TO ME'

I'm done, then I place it in a suitable place where he can see it the moment he comes in. 

And then I hear a knock on the door!
