Standing in Lily’s balcony Mark kept an eye on her. Lily had some papers in her hands and she was reading them. She might have to prepare report for the next day, Mark thought. He made sure that Lily did not come outside else it was going to be tough for him.
Lily opened the word and started preparing the report. “What did I think for me and look, what am I doing? Instead of reporting, I am making reports for the other reporters,” complained Lily to herself. Mark was listening all her talks from the balcony.
“Why did he even appear on that particular day only?” Mark asked Lily saying to herself. “But I was lucky that I did not throw out by the Editor-in-chief. I still have a chance to rise as a reporter and then I have to make my dream true that’s to report with my ideal Reporter,” Lily said as she rested her head on the chair’s headrest.
“So, this is her third dream? I should have told that day not to
The President apologized from Lily as Mark warned him. Mark then spoke, “Miss Evan knows my family really well after that incident. My little sister was being adamant on going out with Miss Evan. I also went with them to the theme park. Issue this statement. Rest will be handled by my manager so, you do not have to worry about that.”The President gave a nod and told Lily to leave. Lily stood up from the sofa chair and left the cabinet. Mark turned to look at the President. “I happened to find that Miss Evan was being shifted from Department of Reporters. Please send her back there. I believe that day incident had only increased your news station TRPs,” Mark pronounced.“I will do that, Mr. Scott. Is there anything else you want to-” Mark cut those words in the middle. “No, I am done. Please continue with your good work,” Mark asserted and got up from the sofa. The President too stood up as a gesture of respect. Mark buttoned his blazer and moved ahead. “You
Lily and Mark were in the park now. There were High back half bucket swings. Lily sat on one of them. “Sit,” Lily said to Mark, gesturing to the other swing beside hers. Mark did so and sat on the other, grabbing the chain on either sides of it.“Mark, what is love?” Lily asked him and peered into his eyes.Mark blinked his eyes for a few seconds. “Why are you asking this question out of sudden?” Mark questioned her with a confused look.“Just answer,” Lily told him.“Umm… I have never put a thought on it,” Mark replied her which made Lily chuckle.“Mark, you don’t have to think about this. It is a feeling which you just describe in many ways. Like I love my family the most in this world. Love is something which makes you feel happy all the time. It something happens to your loved ones you get scared,” asserted Lily.“Happy? Love makes you feel happy?” Mark asked Lily.“Yes,” replied Lily. “When you are around your lover your heart thu
Lily was sitting on the chair, looking at the computer screen but her thoughts were somewhere else. She was thinking about Mark. “It is so confusing. Does he love Serena or not? But he does not, I guess. Wait, he seemed so sad when he was talking about her. Ahh, what it has to do with me? Why am I even thinking about him?” Lily’s mind had many questions at once.Lily picked the phone from her desk and looked at the number of Mark. “Shall I call him or not?” Lily murmured and started biting her nails. Five minutes later, she dialed Mark’s number and put the phone near her ear. “Why isn’t he answering? Is he driving?” Lily muttered and the call was cut. Mark did not answer the call of Lily.“I think he is sad. Why would he not be? They were together for so many years,” Lily murmured and opened the message box. She typed a message to Mark.“Did you safely reach the home? Don’t think too m
“Who is at this hour?” Lily thought. She put off her glasses and placed them on the table. Getting up from the desk chair, she walked out of the room. She looked at the door camera and saw Katie outside the house. Quickly she went to the door and welcomed Katie. “Sorry, you had to wait. I was working,” Lily said and told her to come in.Katie passed her a smile and came inside. They were now in the living room. “What do you like to take? Tea or coffee?” Lily asked Katie.“Nothing. I am here to pick you up. The party with start in the evening so, aunt Eli told me to bring you to the villa,” Katie proclaimed, giving Lily a white teeth smile.Lily scratched her head and said, “So, I have to leave now? I mean I have a little bit of work left,” Lily hesitantly said as her hand was now on her nape.“Complete your work first and then we will leave,” Katie told Lily.“Would you like to come to my room? My things are the
“Why are you here?” Mark asked Lily in a hoarse voice.“I was invited by Mrs. Scott and then Miss Katie came to pick me up at my home,” replied Lily. “Where were you? You could have replied me at least,” Lily complained.Mark did not say anything and walked away. Lily followed him up. “Don’t follow me. I am not in a mood to talk with anyone,” Mark said as he was climbing the stairs.“When did I say I was following you? I am going to Miss Katie’s room to grab my phone,” Lily asserted. Mark did not speak further. “You did not answer where were you? Your family was worried about you,” Lily again asked him as she kept walking beside him.“Do you think they are worried? A party is going on and…leave it,” Mark replied as he fastened his pace.“So, do you love her?” Lily asked him.Mark halted at turned to look at her. “She said I don’t but-” Mark paused and after a while said, “It’s of no use now. She loves someone else.” Lily knitted her brows in confu
Mark dropped Lily home when Lily told him that he should come inside. “Thanks but I have to go somewhere,” Mark told Lily who gave a nod to him and walked away.“Lily,” Mark called out her name as he stepped out of the car.“Yes?” Lily said as she turned to him.“I am hungry,” Mark replied. A chuckle escaped Lily’s mouth. “Come in. I will make something good for you,” Lily said with a tiny smile on her lips. Mark walked to her and the two went inside. As they came to the living room, Lily told Mark that she would come after changing.“No issue. Take your time. Can I do the cooking? I mean suddenly I am having an urge to cook,” Mark stated.“Sure,” Lily said and turned to go to her room when her heel caught into the carpet and she fell but at the right moment Mark caught her. Straightening her up, he told her to be careful. Lily thanked him and quickly took out
Lily opened her eyes as Mark told those words. “Do you think people do not love you?” Lily asked him.“They do I guess but, I am not sure,” Mark replied.“Your family members love you,” Lily stated. Mark chuckled which confused Lily. “So, the same logic of love applies there? You hear beats increase crazily seeing whom you love?” Mark questioned her.“No, what are you saying? That is for two persons being in love with each other, romantically. Family love is different. Ahh, it is so difficult to explain to you. Okay, let say, for example, someone in your family gets injured badly then you might have been scared. Why are you scared? Because you love him/her,” Lily asserted.“I don’t get scared. I think he/she got hurt because his/her own fault,” Mark asserted. Lily looked at him in disbelief.“So, you don’t love them?” Lily asked.
Mark felt Lily’s head on his shoulder. He slightly turned his head and saw she was sleeping which amused him. “How can she fall asleep in just 10 minutes?” Mark wondered and turned off the TV.Mark was not moving at all from his position as he was afraid if Lily’s sleep could break by that. Mark carefully placed his hand on Lily’s nape and made her lay down on the couch there. “I shall leave, I guess,” Mark thought and stood up but, then he stopped.“Lily” he called out her name but Lily did not respond.“What are you doing? Disturbing her sleep?” Mark’s other side of mind told him. Carrying Lily in a bridal style, Mark took her to the room, upstairs. Pushing the door, he walked inside Lily’s room and went to her bed. He gently put her down on the bed and covered her from the blanket, before switching off the lights.A few hair strands which had come ahead her
