The next day at work Maisie was still feeling down about Zach's girlfriend. She knew better than to hope that while he was alive, he was single and still these thoughts didn't improve her mood.

Maisie woke up the next morning and went through her routine in a state of unawareness. She tried to steady herself as she came out of her room and went to the kitchen where Zach sat with a cup of coffee like every other morning.
