The gifts.

At ten o'clock on the dot, Carmen and Liam had arrived at the Davis compound.

Carmen felt depressed as she looked through the window and stared at the enormous mansion. It was not her first time being here. Yet in the past, her visit to this place with Liam wasn't always idyllic, but at least they were in a good relationship back then, or so she thought. However, he could barely look her way now.

"Can you fake a smile, at least?" Liam coldly asked.

Carmen turned and gazed at him, then she brightly smiled. But Liam only seemed to be angrier.

"You are trying too hard." He sharply said.

Carmen's lips carved into an effortless smile as she tried to suppress the panic she was feeling.

"Are you trying to ruin my mood with such a stiff smile?" Liam mumbled.

Freddie stared at them from the v-mirror, and he could see that they were both in torment

Carmen leave that bastard behind and get a divorce. No woman should accept to be manhandled by her husband This is called domestic violence author and you should be ashamed to write a story like that where a woman who loves a man but he doesn't love her, willingly accepts to be beaten hoping to win

Liam need some sense knocked into him. His conscience knows his actions is wrong yet he persist on negative behavior. Okay you love someone else Whoopie but you are with Carmen so let your emotions go naturally. Mother is right even though she has no backbone when it comes to her relationship.
