The Attack part 2

Chapter 4

Sara POV

I choose not to inform the warriors because this news would be the very reason for their death as they will forget to save their own lives and would start searching for our Luna.

As I think of the possibilities, my eyes become moist while my mind conjures up a horrified image of her. The once joyful olive green eyes staring back at me lifelessly, the cheeks that were always flushed now have a sickly pale tone and her beautiful black hair are now a tangled mess.

I feel my eyes tear up and snap out of my thoughts to see my arm slashed by one of the rouges. This time I don’t focus on killing the rouge, instead I run and try to mind link Luna Olivia all the while trying to detect her scent. “Where are you, Luna? Please answer. I can’t let anything happen to you, please just answer for once.”

I keep running in my bloodied state in the field all the while pleading for Luna Olivia to respond.

My nostrils are only able to detect the coppery smell of blood that hangs heavily in the air; my eyes on the other hand only witness the dead bodies of numerous rogues with their different body parts missing. “I…I…I’m in the children’s park, hiding in one of the tunnel slides. Sara, please don’t come to get me. You have bigger responsibilities.”

I finally receive a mind link from Luna Olivia and start running in the direction she is but as I reached closer, I spot a group of rouges advancing in the very same direction and increase my pace to reach faster.

I watch the group of rogues encircle the tunnel slide while I push my legs harder to reach them across the field whereas my eyes are transfixed on them. My uncaring attitude towards my surroundings gives me deep cuts all over my arms and legs but I pay no heed to them and keep running while my already red summer dress turns completely crimson. When I’m almost there, I observe one of the rogues breaking the tunnel surface and trying to get to Luna Olivia.

I finally reach the tunnel slide and though my lungs were practically screaming at me

from the lack of air, I dig my claws in the neck of the rouge who had damaged the tunnel surface and throw the him across the field and called  out our Luna in a soothing voice. “Don’t worry, Luna. I’m here now. Just don’t step out till I say so. I know you don’t like blood and violence.”

With that said, I start killing the rogues like a machine however one can only do so much. I was already heavily outnumbered when I arrived and now with some more rogues joining in with the previous ones, it was taking a turn for the worst.  But I was not ready to let anyone die, so I did the one thing that could turn lethal for me, I gave full control to Sasha in my human form.

She killed all of them skillfully but my human body was already losing a lot of blood from so many injuries and as exhaustion started taking over me, my healing slowed down while my body used the energy to keep me going.

The fight was still going on and that meant giving up was out of context so I took the charge of taking Luna Olivia safely back to the Bunkers. “Luna Olivia, please come out. And I’m pretty much covered in blood. So please just endure it till we reach the bunkers.”  I mumble in a soft voice and wait for her to come out all the while looking out for rogues.

Luna Olivia comes out with her torn white dress and looks at me. She gasps at my condition while tears flow like a waterfall from her eyes. “Sara, God, you are injured badly. Please come to the bunkers, I beg you. You will die if you continue to fight.” She sobs while trying to reach out and touch me.

I step back from her and mumble in the gentlest tone. “I will be fine, Luna. I’m a warrior and we are bound to fight till death. I can’t come to bunkers, these people are depending on me and I’m their leader for now. Please Luna, let’s hurry up and leave this conversation. It’s pointless.”

She nods and wipes her tears understanding my reason while I analyze the field to get her out safely. “Luna, I want you to cut yourself and smear the blood to make your scent unrecognizable. I want you to run with me on the count of three and please don’t stop till you reach the bunkers. David will be there guarding the bunker gates. I have already mind linked him to be extra cautious.”

As I complete my words, I use one of my claws to draw a cut on her arm and look in her eyes for permission to smear the blood. She nods and keeps her eyes ready to spot any rogue while I smear blood on her body and to blend her well, I mix mine too.

I stand up and once again look at the field before starting the countdown. ‘1... 2...3... RUN, Luna!” We both sprint together side by side in the empty part of the ground but when we reach in the middle of the fight, I come forward to ward off every rouge out of the way by slashing them with my claws but it was clear they would hurt Luna in her human form more because it was easy to spot her. “Luna, shift! I’ll keep running in my human form!” I yelled out and in seconds, a black wolf was running by my side instead of Luna Olivia.

We finally reach the bunkers area where I spot David who was standing in a fight stance with his senses on alert. He turns around and runs his hazel brown eyes all over my bloodied state and panic overtakes his emotionless face. “David, take Luna to the Bunkers and guard the gate with your life. The fight is going to be over soon. Make sure medics are ready and not a word more from your mouth.” I state and run back to the field to end rest of the rouges.

Only some more rogues were left while their leader ran away with the remaining troop. I kill some more of the remaining rogues and got another long cut on my neck.

The fight finally comes to an end as I kill the last rogue and look around to see no casualty on our side but a lot of warriors are severely injured.

I mind link the medics to come and take the warriors to the infirmary. The exhaustion and blood loss starts taking over me and when I see the last wolf being taken to the infirmary, I finally let the darkness take over me and fall on the ground without a care of the world.

I love her personality. A strong and brave woman that a Luna should be. Given her strength, she can be a perfect mate for Alex as he is also like her.
