Alexander POV
“Xander, it’s not like I don’t want you. I do, it’s just that I don’t want to be heartbroken.” I heard Zoey’s words and found myself smiling at her but I couldn’t bring myself to say a word.
So, I did what I had wanted to do ever since she woke up. I pulled her in my lap and felt her body on mine. There were tingles everywhere our skin came in contact and I could hear her heartbeat like mine as it sped synching with mine.
I stared in her blue eyes and got lost in them without another thought while she did the same. My arms wrapped around her waist in a possessive hold and brought her closer to me while not blinking my eyes as I was scared to miss her reaction.
She had been just staring at me without any protest and I knew it was now or never. I leaned down slowly, giving her the time to back out from the awaiting kiss but she closed her eyes and craned her neck in my direction
