Chapter Thirty-Two

"Girlfriend?"

Charlene was about to attack me when we went to my room. Hindi siya makapaniwala sa sinabi ko kanina tungkol sa amin ni Brielle. Tinatawanan ko lang siya dahil halos magwala na siya sa inis.

"Alam mo namang ayaw ko sa babaeng 'yon." inis na sabi ni Charlene.

I just laughed at her.

I don't care about how Charlene feels. I'm going to do what I want with who I want, and no one is going to stop me or stand in my way. I'm not interested in any of them.

They're all so shallow.

All the vampires in the world are shallow. The only person who matters is the one I am dating. And she isn't shallow. She's kind. Sweet. kind, like the sun. Bright, beautiful, like the flowers I find at night. But she also has secrets. Secrets that scare her. Secrets that keep her from being happy.

She keeps secrets that keep her from letting anyone get close enough to be friends. I need more than friends. I need people who care, who aren't afraid to look at me. People who want to see this side of me too
